Ghaziabad-based book printer Kailash Graphics in the Delhi NCR has significantly augmented its short-run printing capacity with the installation of a Knowzzlejet M660 inkjet web press. The commercial printer of books, catalogs, and guides is a veteran user of refurbished Heidelberg offset presses with a strong postpress department consisting of the usual complement of special machines, including Bindwel perfect binding.
The Knowzzlejet M660, manufactured by Monotech Systems India and installed in April 2025, is a high-speed web-fed digital inkjet press with both full color and monochrome capabilities. Kailash Graphics’ director Vaibhav Agarwal says “To tackle short-run jobs that are on the rise, we concluded that inkjet technology would be the best suited for our requirements. Our main production is entirely offset, and our short-run orders are sometimes 1,500 pages each, which was a bottleneck with offset printing. The KnowzzelJet has helped streamline our production by several fold.”
Agarwal said that he has been interacting with Monotech Systems since 2021, when he purchased a CtP output device from the company. His reliance on Monotech’s after-sales service and confidence in the production capabilities of the made-in-India webfed inkjet press cemented the decision to add it to his print business. He said that while the demand for shorter print runs is increasing, his strong distribution networks help in getting recurring orders.
The Knowzzlejet M660 offers high-resolution printing with 1600 dpi and speeds of up to 660 feet a minute for monochrome and 200 feet a minute for color printing. The press handles a wide print width (up to 647 mm) and is suitable for variable data printing with RIP features that can handle high-speed PDF workflows. The inkjet web press uses Duralink and Duraflex printhead technologies from Memjet for what is described as exceptional performance and cost-effectiveness.
According to Agarwal, growth has been constant for Kailash Graphics with increased turnover year on year. “Inkjet technology is the future of book printing. Our early adoption of this technology will help with production as well as opening more room or capacity for more orders. With our distribution network and new capabilities with the inkjet press, we can say or foresee that growth will be on an upward trajectory,” he concludes.
The Knowzzlejet M660 seems like a solid step forward for commercial printing, especially when it comes to managing large print volumes with greater consistency. It’ll be interesting to see how this tech influences workflow efficiency and production timelines in the long run.
