Innovative Enterprises, which is HP’s partner for the Mumbai region, showcased the HP Designjet Z series of photo printers at the Sign Today expo held at the Bombay Exhibition Centre from 8-10 April. By participating in Sign Today through its Mumbai partner, HP is sharpening its focus on the photo printing segment.
The printers on display at the Innovative Enterprise booth were the HP Designjet Z6 and HP Designjet HP Z9+. The HP Designjet Z9+ Pro was also promoted at the expo but not demonstrated at the Innovative Enterprises booth.
The 6-color Designjet Z6 24-inch printer has speeds of 66.9 square meters per hour on plain media; 15.2 square meters per hour on coated media and 7.9 square meters per hour on glossy media. It offers up to 2400 x 1200 optimized dpi resolutions.

“With these printers, HP has put a big focus on the photo printing segment. The segment is gradually recovering post the pandemic. The Z series offers low maintenance solutions as running costs are very attractive and affordable,” an official from HP who was at the Innovative Enterprises booth told Indian Printer and Publisher.
Talking about the show, the HP Executive said that Sign Today was one of the first full-fledged offline expos in Mumbai after the pandemic and attracted large number of visitors. “It was really great to be at an offline expo post the pandemic and meet customers in person. The first two days were very busy and the event witnessed very good footfall. Most of the visitors to our booth were photographers or photo lab operators. The last day was a bit slower probably because of Sunday. Overall, the expo was a great experience,” the official concluded.
