Change Digital Printers, a commercial digital printer and packager based in Ollur in Thrissur district of Kerala, has opted for Bindwel technology, procuring a SigLoch XE-CUT digital flatbed cutting table to fast-track its short-run carton box-making capacity.

Change Digital specializes in commercial digital printing for books, magazines, brochures, visiting cards, wedding cards, and catalogs. The company also processes packaging such as short-run labels and boxes and some flex printing for indoor advertising.

The Bindwel SigLoch XE-CUT

According to proprietor Saajan T Pulikottil, Change Digital Printers installed the Bindwel SigLoch XE-CUT because of its quality and made-in-India feature with local service availability.

Pulikottil said the SigLoch XE-CUT enabled them to increase both job volume and the speed of finishing, which led to a surge of customers through word-of-mouth publicity.

“With the new Bindwel machine, customized jobs are completed on time with faster deliveries. The quality of finishing has also improved with minimum wastage of products.”

On the specific features of the machine, he said all operations are done in a single pass with minimal requirement for skilled labor, as the Bindwel SigLoch XE-CUT has an auto feeder and QR Code reader features.

The digital printer rated Bindwel’s customer support as excellent, while sharing that they would recommend Bindwel machines to others for the quality, its Indian make, and local service support.

Pulikottil said they recently received an order for Saya for 500 carton boxes for appam packaging for exports. However, they did not have the requisite machines and were compelled to outsource the order. “With the SigLoch XE-CUT, we can now take such jobs and complete them on time.”

“The Bindwel machines are made in India, robust, and can finish my jobs with consistency and on time. The machine does not face much breakdown, and hence service requirement is very low, leading to excellent production time,” he said.

Change Digital’s equipment

The company serves Thrissur-based retail businesses in all segments with its digital printing operations. With a staff of five, the company operates in a single shift from 10 am to 10 pm.

Change Digital’s 600-square-foot facility is equipped with a Canon imagePress C710 for color printing, a Kyocera TASKalfa 2552ci for monochrome printing, along with a Chinese 6-foot eco-solvent and a Chinese 10-foot solvent printer.

In the postpress section, the company has a SigLoch XE-CUT flatbed cutter from Bindwel, a Chinese Guillotine cutter from TBC and thermal lamination machines from China and Ernakulam(Kerala)-based CD Lamination.

According to proprietor Pulikottil, Change Digital’s USP lies in its ability for on-time deliveries of paper-based products with customization.
