The department of Printing Engineering at Jadavpur University, Kolkata organised its annual PRINTVIZON seminar on 26 and 27 December 2017. The colorful 2-day seminar is organized by the students to discuss advancements, developments and opportunities in printing. It is also an important event for networking with well placed alumni in the print industry.
Kamal Chopra former president of the All India Federation of Master Printers who was invited to deliver the keynote address at the event emphasised the need for quality print education. Chopra said, “Printing is the second largest industry of the world and is the biggest invention of mankind till date. Printing is the mother of all revolution and the history of printing is the history of civilization itself . . . . printing has an unequalled history of strength – and believability. It has the power to shape ideas and influence action. It is important to note in today’s world of sound bites – of fleeting impressions – of here today gone tomorrow messages, that print lasts. No one should every underestimate this power. You all know the glorious past of this industry and there is bound to be a promising future in this profession. So you are in a wonderful profession and you must feel proud to be a printer.”
