Epson India displayed three products at their stand at Media Expo Mumbai 2015. There were two large format printers and one multi function printer. The two large format printers were the SCB7070 and the S50670 while the multi function printer whown was the SCT5270.

“The SureColor SC-B7070 is the world’s first original ink tank large format printer that delivers fast, cost effective and high quality printing,” said LK Vasudevan, business manager, Prographic products, Epson India. The SureColor SC-B7070 is the first in its class to integrate large, 1.5 litre capacity ink tanks for increased productivity and efficiency, reducing the frequency of ink refills while at the same time enabling fast, high-volume printing. Epson’s Micro Piezo print heads provide the required durability for high volume production while filters in the ink tanks ensure that the ink supply is kept free of impurities that may cause clogging and stoppages.

Epson’s other large format printer at the show, the S50670 delivers results of up to 64-inches wide for a wide variety of indoor and outdoor commercial applications in essentially the signage and POP segments. “The S50670 is designed with high productivity needs in mind,” Vasudevan added. The SC-S50670 combines advanced printing technologies with the 5-colour UltraChrome GS2 ink set to produce images that are durable and of high quality.

The third Epson product on show the SureColor SC-T5270, is available in dual-roll and multifunction configurations. The T5270 prints documents at speeds of up to two A1 prints a minute. It can produce a variety of prints on a range of substrates, including 1.5 mm thick board.

About the response at the event, Vasudevan said the footfall has been excellent with lot of serious leads. “We have seen great response for all the three products on display here. We have managed to close a deal for one of the products and generate many serious leads,” he said.

In 2024, we are looking at full recovery and growth-led investment in Indian printing

Indian Printer and Publisher founded in 1979 is the oldest B2B trade publication in the multi-platform and multi-channel IPPGroup. It created the category of privately owned B2B print magazines in the country. And by its diversification in packaging, (Packaging South Asia), food processing and packaging (IndiFoodBev) and health and medical supply chain and packaging (HealthTekPak), and its community activities in training, research, and conferences (Ipp Services, Training and Research) the organization continues to create platforms that demonstrate the need for quality information, data, technology insights and events.

India is a large and tough terrain and while its book publishing and commercial printing industry have recovered and are increasingly embracing digital print, the Indian newspaper industry continues to recover its credibility and circulation. The signage industry is also recovering and new technologies and audiences such as digital 3D additive printing, digital textiles, and industrial printing are coming onto our pages. Diversification is a fact of life for our readers and like them, we will also have to adapt with agility to keep up with their business and technical information needs.

India is one of the fastest growing economies in nominal and real terms – in a region poised for the highest change in year to year expenditure in printing equipment and consumables. Our 2024 media kit is ready, and it is the right time to take stock – to emphasize your visibility and relevance to your customers and turn potential markets into conversations.
