At Pamex 2023, Technova Imaging Systems talked about digital printing and green solutions and officially launched the Kratos thermal zero-process, a direct-on-press digital plate. It also talked about the HP Indigo 6K digital label press, a range of green chemicals, and the Konica Minolta AccurioPress C4080 digital color production press.

Sustainability and green solutions are no more just fancy words. The customers want green solutions from their supplies. We have addressed this issue with the Kratos thermal zero-process, direct-on-press digital plate, and range of green chemicals. Meanwhile, on the digital front, we have the partnerships with HP and Konica Minolta, which are doing extremely well,” said Amit Khurana, deputy CEO, digital and offset printing solutions, Technova Imaging Systems.

Talking about the response to its state-of-the-art TOUCH Center at Turbhe in Navi Mumbai inaugurated in January this year, Khurana said the industry has given a double thumbs up to the initiative.

It is with great pleasure that I inform you that the industry has responded phenomenally well to the demo center. A lot of brands have visited the demo center and have worked on new solutions. People are looking to learn; brands can now directly work on a new idea. We hope to further enhance the TOUCH Center as we move forward,” Khurana says.

TOUCH is an acronym for the TechNova Open University for Change. The center is spread over 3,000 square foot of area and has the best-in-class HP Indigo 6k digital press running live, which will offer a complete experience of HP Indigo’s digital printing technology.

The TOUCH Center is the extension of HP’s Graphic Experience Center in Alpharetta, Barcelona and Singapore. The center will provide many services such as a demonstration of HP Indigo technology and performance and new application development for print service providers (PSPs) and brands.

Print has recovered well post-Covid

Khurana said the Indian print industry has bounced back really well post Covid with packaging and book printing leading the recovery and growth. In the commercial printing segment, growth is happening in the digital space as printers are moving from offset to digital. Newspapers have also started generating profits underpinned by cost rationalization, he said.

We expect the growth in the print segment to continue. In packaging, for example, flexo is witnessing rapid popularity. I expect exciting times in the years ahead,” Khurana concluded.
