As the printing business, brought to its knees by Covid-19, begins to take a deep breath and stand up once again, the Chennai-based Monotech Systems is showcasing a brand-new UV and foiling machine at the 15th Printpack India that began in the NCR on 26 May 2022. With digital trending, the magic machine is about to change the way a brand, a box, or a book looks. Tej Prakash Jain, managing director of Monotech Systems, tells IPP all about the luscious glow over the embellished lipstick carton boxes.
 

Among the plethora of solutions that Chennai-based Monotech Systems is demonstrating at India’s premier printing technology exhibition is the PixelGlow UV and foiling system, a digital print enhancement solution for the entry-level market.

Jain proudly recalled that Monotech brought the concept of digital print enhancement into India with Scodix, which is still the market leader and caters to the top end of the market.

“At this show, we have now brought to India a new product for the entry-level digital print enhancement market, the PixelGlow UV and foiling system. A lot of customers want to have print enhancement technology but cannot afford it. The PixelGlow should solve that problem.”

Envisioning quick adoption by India’s print industry, Jain said PixelGlow offers inline feeding, embossing, and foiling. “The industry will appreciate this product and make print enhancement mainstream,” Jain argues.

Another advanced-tech product at the Monotech stand is the high-speed monochrome roll-to-sheet inkjet printer from Jetsci. The color version of the Jetsci roll-to-sheet inkjet printer is also on display at the stand. “These are going to be exciting products for the publishing industry,” Jain predicts.

Digital is the trend

In this year’s Printpack, digital printing and digital print enhancement are trending, clearly indicating the growing market for enhanced color insta-printing. “Digital is the most prominent trend that we see all around. There are a large number of players demonstrating digital technologies. We ourselves are showing a lot of digital equipment at the show. In fact, for Monotech, it is an all-digital show’, Jain says.

Big Footfall for a real exhibition

Talking about Printpack, Jain says that there is a pent-up demand in the industry about offline shows, and the response to Printpack is expected to be very good. “Printpack is the premier event of the industry and we have had great success here in the past. The event is taking place after three years and we expect very good footfall because the touch-and-feel factor that was missing all this while,” he concludes.
