Mumbai-based Edifice Technologies, in association with HP India and Canon India, held a roadshow at Mumbai’s Holiday Inn International titled ‘Edifice PrintExpo’ to showcase various technologies from the portfolios of both the companies. Edifice is the distributor for HP’s wide-format printers in West India and Canon printers in the Mumbai market.

In the HP hall, Edifice displayed for the first time the HP Designjet XL3600 multi-functional printer. The app-based and Cloud-connected multi-functional printer portfolio is designed for the architecture, engineering and design community. The printer is designed to reduce running costs, with up to 10 times less energy consumption than comparable LED printers.

“The idea behind launching this printer was to work towards replacing the LED printers with a much greener alternative. The HP Designjet XL3600 uses die-based inks, which are environmentally friendly. Our main target audience will be copy shop market,” says Saumitra Trivedi, managing partner, Edifice Technologies.

Also on display from the HP Designjet series was Designjet T1708, which can produce CAD and GIS applications up to 44 inches. Edifice and HP also displayed HP Latex 570 wide format printer for the signage market.

Talking about the HP Latex 570 printer, Trivedi said that the best part of the printer is that it can print on a wide variety of media such as vinyl, canvass and rexine, among others. The printer can be used for applications such as printing banners, backlit, point of purchase posters, vehicle graphics and textiles, among others.

In the Canon hall, Edifice displayed the Canon C710 printer with the IPR kit. The printer on display was sold to Matunga-based commercial printer Print India. Talking about the press, Ashish Jha of Canon India said that the C710 with IPR kit offers an economical option to printers who want to upgrade to a branded machine.

“The C710 comes with the IPR kit as well as an EFI Fiery G250 kit. Customers have the option to go for either. The IPR kit comes at a more economical price point as compared to the EFI Fiery. For a printer who wants to go for a branded printer, the IPR option makes sense as they initially have low volumes and less complex jobs. The IPR kit is available only with C710 and not with C810 and C910,” shared Jha.
