The official preview for JLF Valladolid, Spain 2026, produced by Teamwork Arts in association with Casa de la India, was held on 16 th May 2026, at the Embassy of Spain in India, and hosted by Juan Antonio March Pujol, Ambassador of Spain to India. The evening brought together cultural diplomats, authors, and literary enthusiasts, in order to celebrate the enduring cultural dialogue between India and Spain. Francisco Capote, Chargé d’Affaires of Spain in India, Sanjoy K. Roy, managing director of Teamwork Arts, and Namita Gokhale, writer and co-founder & co-director of the Jaipur Literature Festival, opened the evening by addressing the audience.

The year 2026 marks the celebration of seventy years of Indo-Spanish diplomatic and cultural relations, commemorating decades of exchange across literature, art, and culture. Against this backdrop, the preview evening unveiled the program for JLF Valladolid, Spain 2026, scheduled from the 11 – 14 of June 2026 across Madrid and Valladolid, with the opening taking place at IE School of Arts & Humanities in Madrid, and the remainder of the festival taking place in Valladolid, concluding with a special Closing Gala at Abadía Retuerta for invited guests.

Produced by Teamwork Arts, JLF Valladolid, Spain continues the international journey of the Jaipur Literature Festival, while strengthening cultural connections between India and Spain through conversations, performances, music, and shared experiences. Set amidst the Campo Grande city park, adorned with peacocks, cascading trees, and ornamental fountains, JLF Valladolid, Spain 2026 will feature a line-up of  speakers, including Nobel Peace Prize laureate Kailash Satyarthi, alongside Jeet Thayil, Juan Manuel de Prada, Miriam Reyes, Alvar Hinojal, Jorge Volpi, Tara Menon, Marta Robles, and William Dalrymple, among many others.

The festival will once again present its specially curated Friend of the Festival (FOF) experience, bringing together literary programming, music, performances, heritage experiences, and regional gastronomy across Valladolid and Castilla y León. The closing evening at the 12th-century Abadía Retuerta will feature Michelin-star chef Marc Segarra, alongside a specially curated concert and performance, allowing attendees to savour Spanish culinary delights, curated heritage walks, and gala evening concerts that bring the city and the region of Castilla y León, known for its exceptional wines, to life.

The festival is also presented in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Spain; the Embassy of Spain in India; the Embassy of India in Spain; Museo Casa de Cervantes; and the Spain-India Foundation.

The preview evening built anticipation for the upcoming festival while underscoring the growing cultural partnership between India and Spain through literature, ideas, and the arts.
