Indian Printer & Publisher has been following the growth of Print Mart since it installed the first Fujifilm Revoria Press PC 1120 at one of its Delhi facilities in 2021. As we had reported in May 2024, Atul Bhatt and Harish Setia started Print Mart, a commercial printing venture, with a single Konica Minolta C6500 from a shed under Bhatt’s home in north Delhi’s Rohini in 2013. In 2018, Atul Bhatt’s brother Vikas Bhatt joined Print Mart as general manager. The company has since expanded to 33 outlets across Delhi-NCR and is gradually unlocking new geographies in the North Indian printing market.
Some of its outlets are located in Ramesh Nagar, Kamla Nagar, Patparganj, Okhla, Ghaziabad, Faridabad, and Noida in Delhi-NCR. The latest ones are in Mongolpuri and Janakpuri in West Delhi. The digital printing operation has expanded to northern cities such as Panipat, Moradabad, and Jalandhar, with new outlets added in Agra and Ludhiana, since our last visit. A new facility is under construction at a printing hub near Delhi-NCR. There are plans for a few more outlets before FY 25-26 closes on 31 March. The Bhatt brothers are constantly scouting untapped print markets across North India.
Konica Minolta has supplied most of the printing equipment at these 33 outlets – more than 50 printing presses with 7 monochrome machines. Seven new Konica Minolta Accuriopress C12000 and one new Konica Minolta AccurioPress C14010S printing presses were installed across Print Mart’s North India outlets since our last visit in 2024.
On Print Mart’s professional relationship with Konica Minolta, Vikas Bhatt said, “After-sales services matter and Konica Minolta has taken it to a completely new level. Their service engineers are available 24×7. They have better reach and own a majority share of the Indian digital printing market, according to the machine sales import data.”
Speaking about Print Mart’s growth trajectory, Ashok Sethi, chief sales officer, Konica Minolta, said, “We are delighted to partner with Print Mart as they integrate the AccurioPress C14010S into their production workflow. Their decision reflects a strong commitment to innovation and a clear vision for future-ready print capabilities. The AccurioPress C14010S is designed to deliver high productivity, exceptional consistency, and the flexibility needed to tap into new application segments—all of which align perfectly with Print Mart’s ambitions. We value this collaboration and are confident this investment will strengthen its market presence. Konica Minolta is committed to supporting Print Mart’s journey with advanced technology and trusted service.”
Print Mart provides commercial and digital printing jobs, including brochures, catalogs, diaries, books, calendars, visiting cards, stickers, magazines, wedding cards and greeting cards. The combined production capacity of the seven monochrome engines from Konica Minolta, installed at different locations, is 1 million A4 pages per day. The combined production capacity of the color Konica Minolta presses across Print Mart’s 33 locations is 2.7 million A4 pages per day on toner machines. Apart from Konica Minolta digital presses, all of Print Mart’s outlets have lamination machines from various Indian and Chinese manufacturers.
Traditional commercial paper printing involving brochures, catalogs, flyers and other marketing material comprises the majority (approximately 30%) of Print Mart’s total production, followed by calendars and wedding cards – niche segments with seasonal work. Annual reports and yearbooks mark a significant portion of its print volume.
Vikas Bhatt told IPP at the new Mongolpuri office that the North Indian commercial digital printing segment, though growing at a CAGR of 7-8 % annually as per market research firm Perplexity, had become stagnant for Print Mart. He cited two reasons – digital printing has become a commodity and no longer the latest trend in the capital. The other reason is stiff competition among OEMs.
Last year, Bhatt had said Print Mart is a commercial printer for jobbers and 80% of its revenues in Delhi NCR came from this segment. However, last week, he said the jobbers market is now scattered as every street in Delhi has a digital printing machine. This has led to cut-throat competition, resulting in reduced margins.
In Bhatt’s opinion, it makes more sense to tap into unexplored digital print markets across various locations in North India, as the Delhi market is becoming more and more saturated.
Tapping the POD publishing segment
In June 2024, Print Mart started Jambui Prints, a print-on-demand (POD) publishing venture, at the new Mongolpuri outlet to tap short-run publishing jobs. This relatively new venture has taken on board educational institutes and major publishers. The outlet does variable data printing on a large scale for documents for private universities.
Jambui Prints also serves the photo printing segment for wedding albums as well as coffee table books by self-published authors and amateur photographers. According to Bhatt, no digital or commercial printing jobs are done in the Mongolpuri location.
The Jambui Prints outlet in Mongolpuri spans a total production area of 7,800 square feet spread across three floors. The venture acquired a Bindwel BW@2500 6-clamp perfect binder in April 2025, along with the first Atexco Vegapress Mini in July 2024. Postpress equipment from Indian manufacturers was also added.
Pallippuram Sajith, managing director at Bindwel, told Indian Printer & Publisher, “Print Mart has focused on short-run print requirements of educational publishers. Many of our own publishers-customers source from them, despite having a full-fledged printing and binding set-up. Print Mart finds it easy to match and deliver the quality expected in binding, as it has a machine from Bindwel. Delivering quality at an optimal cost is possible if they have a reliable machine like the BW@2500.”
Ajay Aggarwal, CEO & MD, Insight Print Communications – the distributor of Atexco in India, said, “Print Mart, under the leadership of Atul and Vikas, is a highly forward-looking and professional organization dedicated to advancing digital printing. They have achieved remarkable success with their Atexco VegaPress Mini press over the past year, producing an impressive 80 million impressions, which reflects both their commitment and expertise in the industry.”
Jambui Prints’ minimum average quantities for POD short-run jobs are 10-500 pieces and 10-800 pieces for color and monochrome printing, respectively. The grammage for paper and paperboard ranges from 90 to 370 gsm, with the paper products being sourced from Indian mills such as the Kresto brand from Kuantum Papers, April Fine Paper, and Century Pulp & Paper.
The inks are supplied by Konica Minolta and Kyocera. In digital printing operations, the inks are mostly supplied by companies selling digital printing equipment, as opposed to the freedom of choosing ink suppliers with major commercial offset printing presses. Henkel adhesives are used for the binding of the POD books.
Slower-moving inventory for POD jobs helps publishers save cost, time, and energy, Bhatt noted. The Jambui Prints outlet prints 2 million A4 monochrome pages per day, along with .5 million A4 color pages.
Diversification into label printing
The Zoom Print arm of Print Mart diversified into label printing in the last year with the installation of an Epson SurePress L-6534VW in November 2024, the second installation of the machine in India. The model is said to be a UV digital label press for high-quality, high-speed label printing.
Along with the Epson label press, the label printing operation involves an MGI Jetvarnish press from Konica Minolta as well as the Fujifilm Revoria PC1120. “We had to diversify into POD publishing and label printing to survive in the dynamic Indian printing and packaging industry segments and continue the growth of Print Mart. The white plus MGI combination has helped a lot in tapping the core label market. We are primarily targeting new launches from companies, including pilot projects, start-ups, and emerging brands,” Bhatt concluded.
