Lucknow-based Prakash Packagers recently installed a Komori GL-440A Ex Edition 4-color printing press. Spread over an area of 30,000 square feet, Prakash Packagers has a modern production facility equipped with a line of pre-press, press, and post-press machines and equipment from leading brands.

“We have using Komori technology. At present, we run three Komori presses, among which the latest one has just been installed,” Amit Bhargava, director, Prakash Packagers, said.

The first Komori press at Prakash Packagers, a Lithrone GL437, was installed in 2022. This was followed by a Komori Super Lithrone LS-440 installed last year. The Komori GL-440A Ex Edition has been added as the third Komori to the company’s machine portfolio in 2025. “With the addition of the third Komori press, we are boosting our productivity of commercial graphics and end-products such as books to a whole new level,” Bhargava says.

The Komori GL-440A Ex Edition is said to be the perfect press for extensive commercial and packaging jobs. It is capable to operate at a maximum speed of 17,200 sph (sheets per hour), handling sheet sizes up to 750 × 1050 mm. In addition, this  Komori press is claimed to be equipped with environmentally responsible functions that eventually reduce power consumption, paper waste, and greenhouse gas emission.

Alongside the Komori trio, Prakash Packagers’ production facility is equipped with an array of printing equipment from Heidelberg, Konica Minolta, and HP, along with pre-press systems from Kodak as well as a host of post-press binding equipment from Welbound and Electromec. “Quality is a hallmark of our tradition and we keep upgrading our machine portfolio from time to time to maintain efficiency and excellence in our print outputs and end-products,” says Bhargava.

Prakash Packagers prints a variety of commercial print products including posters, calendars, leaflets, magazines, books, business cards, folders, and large-format graphics. According to Bhargava, everything from studio designing, composing, and proofreading, up to printing, packaging, and distribution is managed in-house.

The 52-year-old printing facility started by Prakash Narayan Bhargava, Uttar Pradesh’s first polygraphy engineer from Germany, and a recipient of the ‘UP Ratna’ title for its contribution to the overall growth and promotion of the print industry in the state.

A bunch of awards and accolades have been conferred on the printer in recognition of its outstanding works, services, and end-products over the last three decades. Notable among these are the National Award for Excellence in Printing by South Asia Print Congress, Gold Medal by Transworld Trade Fair, and North India Award for Print Excellence.

“Our USP is providing what their customers want accurately, cost-effectively, and on time,” Bhargava said.
