Solimar Systems bestowed with innovation award by Keypoint Intelligence

ReadyPDF Prepress Server offers multiple advantages

Solimar systems receives Buyers Lab outstanding innovation award in production print

Customers of Solimar Systems, provider of workflow solutions for print production and digital communications, are confirming dramatic time and cost efficiencies using the latest company’s PDF cleansing and workflow optimization software platform, ReadyPDF prepress server.

The successes experienced by these companies have been further acknowledged by Keypoint Intelligence, business intelligence and testing provider of digital imaging and business communications industries, who earlier this month awarded Solimar Systems’ ReadyPDF platform with a Buyers Lab outstanding innovation award in production print. Keypoint Intelligence has been recognized as the industry’s most trusted resource for unbiased information, analysis, and awards due to decades of analyst experience.

Winners were chosen by Keypoint Intelligence’s independent panel of print production analysts based on their ability to improve output quality, enhance productivity, deliver workflow efficiencies, impact sustainability, and advance their product segments in meaningful ways.

Solimar Systems enables organizations around the globe to onboard, make ready, enhance, manage and deliver print and digital communications. For nearly 30 years, Solimar has delivered critical infrastructure to the high volume digital printing industry.

ReadyPDF is designed to overcome the challenges customers encounter with many RIP systems, to fully optimize PDF files for print and digital delivery or archive and to simplify integration into existing workflows providing dramatic advantages for the end-user.

Brian Cox, senior director of software development; BCS architecture at RR Donnelley, Solimar advisory council member states, “RR Donnelley has been a long-time enterprise customer of the Solimar Chemistry platform for print file conversions and post-composition enhancements. ReadyPDF is now benefiting us in our prepress processes as we clean up and improve PDF files prior to production.”

Canadian printer, Gilmore Doculink, recently reported an impressive reduction in processing times. Chris Beech, manager, composition services for Gilmore Doculink and Solimar Advisory Council member, said, “For one particular job, we host and archive 100% of the output and print the content on a color roll press. Pre-ReadyPDF, this application would have a 24-hour turnaround. Using ReadyPDF it takes just 1 hour – the savings are quite incredible!”

Beech continued, “Typically, we saw a 650MB file reduced to just 50MB. Although the ReadyPDF files were smaller, they also contained more content, ensuring there was zero impact on the downstream systems. ReadyPDF also enabled a more streamlined approach, eliminating the need for multiple resources as all files, whether archived or printed, are optimized for print production.”

Echoing the benefits experienced by Solimar Systems’ customers, the reasons ReadyPDF was presented the outstanding ‘achievement in innovation: production printing’ award by KPI were PDF file size reduction, increased automation, streamlined PDF file complexity,

ReadyPDF offers PDF file size reduction up to 14 times as illustrated in lab testing at KPI earlier this year. ReadyPDF provides a cost-effective measure ensuring that the digital front ends or DFEs of high-speed digital presses can process data to keep them running at optimal press speeds.

Increased automation including automated PDF inspection and correction enables printers to automate onboarding of production work, without the requirement for manual intervention. ReadyPDF optimizes resources and fixes structural issues within PDF files so they process more efficiently.

Mary Ann Rowan, chief experience officer, Solimar Systems, commented, “We’re very grateful for the recognition by Keypoint Intelligence. Solimar Systems has been delivering PDF infrastructure for printing and digital use for more than two decades. ReadyPDF fills an important technology gap for high volume personalized content processing and complements our other PDF-centric workflow solutions in our Chemistry platform.”

In 2024, we are looking at full recovery and growth-led investment in Indian printing

Indian Printer and Publisher founded in 1979 is the oldest B2B trade publication in the multi-platform and multi-channel IPPGroup. It created the category of privately owned B2B print magazines in the country. And by its diversification in packaging, (Packaging South Asia), food processing and packaging (IndiFoodBev) and health and medical supply chain and packaging (HealthTekPak), and its community activities in training, research, and conferences (Ipp Services, Training and Research) the organization continues to create platforms that demonstrate the need for quality information, data, technology insights and events.

India is a large and tough terrain and while its book publishing and commercial printing industry have recovered and are increasingly embracing digital print, the Indian newspaper industry continues to recover its credibility and circulation. The signage industry is also recovering and new technologies and audiences such as digital 3D additive printing, digital textiles, and industrial printing are coming onto our pages. Diversification is a fact of life for our readers and like them, we will also have to adapt with agility to keep up with their business and technical information needs.

India is one of the fastest growing economies in nominal and real terms – in a region poised for the highest change in year to year expenditure in printing equipment and consumables. Our 2024 media kit is ready, and it is the right time to take stock – to emphasize your visibility and relevance to your customers and turn potential markets into conversations.
