PRINT CHINA 2019 Press Conference was held in Rm. S401d, McCormick Place on 12 September 2017 during PRINT 17 in Chicago.
PRINT CHINA, also known as The International Printing Technology Exhibition of China, launched its first edition in Dongguan in 2007. As a quadrennial fair for the printing industry, PRINT CHINA has been successfully held for three sessions.
Lu Changan, vice chairman of Printing and Printing Equipment Industries Association of China (PEIAC), made a speech at the press conference and introduced the overall situation of the show to the participants.
The 3rd PRINT CHINA (PRINT CHINA 2015) occupied a total exhibition area of 140,000 square meters, a growth of 16.67% compared to the previous edition. A total of 1,328 exhibitors came from 28 countries and regions, and the professional visitors from all over the world totalled 200,000. There were 20% professional overseas buyers from 145 countries and regions. More than 60 events were held concurrently at the fair, including seminars, symposiums, forums and conferences. In terms of the exhibition scale and the on-site trade volume, PRINT CHINA proves to be the largest printing exhibition in Asia. The 4th PRINT CHINA will be held in Dongguan, Guangdong from the 9 to 13 April 2019.
PRINT CHINA is jointly held by PEIAC, Guangdong Printing Association and China International Exhibition Centre Group Corporation; it is undertaken by Print China Show Company Limited and China Print Show Co. Ltd. It is estimated that the amount of professional visitors would exceed 200,000 and online visitors is expected to be more than 400,000. The overwhelming majority of the top leading manufacturers from the world have already confirmed their exhibition at PRINT CHINA 2019.
Changan also shared the newest data of the printing industry development in China. According to Changan, the total output value of China’s printing industry is 1.15 trillion Chinese Yuan in 2016, ranking the second in the world and realizing an increase of 2.7%. In the first half of 2017, the industry was developing positively and the growth rate reached 9.9% with a dramatic positive change.
For the publication printing market in China, the growing trend has been maintained for the previous five years with total print volume increase at an annual rate of 4.2%.
With a dramatic increase rate of 6%, the mid-to-high end packaging sector takes over 75% of China’s print market and proves to be the major force that boosts the industry. Hence, for the coming five years, it is expected that the overall increase rate of China’s print market would reach approximately 6-8%.
China’s digital printing also reported a dramatic increase with a growth rate of 103% in 2016. A growth rate of 10% was met in green printing, children’s books, personalized packaging, label printing and other printing segments.
Green printing proves to be a consensus of the industry. China’s print market is currently facing plenty of new demands. By fully understanding the industry trend and factors, the organizer of PRINT CHINA 2019 has adapted the concept of ‘Innovation – Leading the future’ featuring green product, efficiency, digitalization, intelligent and networking. It is expected that new technologies of cloud computing, Big Data, Internet+ and mobile technology will be showcased at the show and people will see the new achievements of smart manufacturing and the technology breakthrough in green printing.
Meanwhile, more than 60 events will be held concurrently during the show and more than 180,000 visitors are expected to come.
