Kolkata’s Polyco Industries specializes in research papers as well as printing books, magazines, and educational publications, alongside commercial printing for local and institutional clients. Founded in 2018, it runs out of a 3,000-square-foot unit in Behala, southwest Kolkata, and has a team of nine handling around 150–250 customers monthly.

Polyco has 12 machines in its press, prepress, and bindery setup that includes a Bindwel Blue Chip machine. Proprietor Abhradip Dhar said quality binding was the biggest challenge they faced before installing the Bindwel machine.

Maintaining consistent binding quality and faster turnaround times was an issue. Better turnaround times and enhancing the finishing quality of our books made us look for a perfect binding and bookmaking system,” he shared.

Customer satisfaction is the company’s priority, Dhar said, adding brand Image, service support and stable machine performance were the parameters that made him zero in on the Blue Chip.

The Bindwel Blue Chip enables us to produce a higher number of books within a shorter span of time. It has helped us upgrade the overall binding quality in terms of speed, consistency, waste reduction, labor saving, turnaround times, quality, and output. Our workflow is now more streamlined and efficient, allowing smoother production management and consistent output quality. The machine saves on adhesive usage while focusing on key process strengths. The nipping feature matters most to us because it provides perfect squaring and professional finishing quality.”

Polyco completed a recent L&T project using the Blue Chip setup, where it managed quality production within a strict turnaround schedule and delivered it successfully to the client’s satisfaction, Dhar said, while adding that producing 200 books a day is one of the most complex jobs they have handled to date.

On Bindwel’s support, Dhar said, “Bindwel’s technical support and after-sales service are excellent. We would definitely recommend Bindwel because they take care of even the smallest workflow requirements and provide prompt support whenever needed.”

The Bindwel team provides excellent support from installation guidance to operating assistance. We are especially thankful to Suresh, Mayur Bharate, Avisek Ghosh, and Krishna Singh for their prompt response, technical guidance, and customer-friendly approach.”

Dhar said they aim to become one of India’s top book production and binding companies in India over the next decade.
