Meerut-based educational and children’s book printer Basant Digital Solutions, widely known as Vardhman Books Meerut and formerly operating under the banner of Vardhman Print Line, continues to set high standards in the commercial and textbook publishing landscape.
With increased volume, the company witnessed several production bottlenecks, and to alleviate them, the company invested in Bindwel’s six-clamp perfect binder and BW@2500.
According to founder Ayush Jain, the production unit has established a reputation for producing educational materials, engaging children’s literature, canvassing jobs, and short-run commercial titles. Operating out of an expansive 24,000-square-foot facility with a team of 100 employees across two shifts, the company generates an annual turnover of approximately Rs 50 crores while actively expanding its target footprint into competitive regional markets, including Mumbai.
The company’s operating strategy is a non-negotiable commitment to high-end print finish and on-time deliveries for the publishing houses it delivers to. As production demand expanded, Basant Digital Solutions initially attempted to handle surplus volume by outsourcing jobs to external partners.
However, this strategy quickly revealed significant bottlenecks, introducing quality inconsistencies, compromised delivery schedules, and unwanted cost overruns. To eliminate these inefficiencies and regain total operational control, the company transitioned from its pre-owned Bindwel WB@2000 model to the high-performance Bindwel BW@2500 and six-clamp perfect binder.
“The integration of the Bindwel BW@2500 transformed our factory floor significantly, raising total throughput while guaranteeing high-precision binding across every run. Built for robust, consistent operations, the six-clamp Perfect Binder provided the speed, durability, and user-friendly automation required to handle intense production cycles in-house. This dramatic increase in production efficiency enabled us to easily scale past prior output limits, ensuring that high-volume jobs are completed internally without sacrificing finish quality or profit margins,” Jain said.
The real-world capability of this upgraded setup was demonstrated during the execution of the high-stakes Pikaso book series project. Tasked with producing around 2 lakhs books under seemingly impossible deadlines, the facility leveraged the speed and reliability of the BW@2500 to pull off an extraordinary turnaround, binding 40,000 books within a single day-and-night marathon session to meet the client’s rigid timetable.
Beyond high-capacity runs, the machine’s precision shines through in the press’s flagship showcase series, including the Infinity Books series and the Neo Star series, which stand as benchmarks of craftsmanship and structural integrity in the children’s book sector.
“This operational success is due to Bindwel’s service infrastructure. When crucial commitments were on the line during the high-density Kumbh Mela period, a time when regional transit routes were heavily restricted, Bindwel deployed a dedicated service engineer who navigated transport hurdles to service and optimize the BW@2500 ahead of schedule,” he said.
Expressing total satisfaction with both the machine’s daily output and the post-sales technical support, Jain says every customer remains vital to their growth, with Bindwel playing a core role in keeping their publication promises on track.
