Mumbai’s Manifold Graphics has had a long relationship with Monotech Systems, who are the Indian partners of Konica Minolta. The working relationship goes back almost a decade when the company was established. Manifold Graphics began its digital printing operations in 2002 from its current location in Shah and Nahar Industrial Estate in Mumbai’s business district of Lower Parel. It specializes in posters, visiting cards, visual aid items to name a few. The two galas where the company operates from are spread over 1,000 square feet and 400 square feet respectively.

The company started off with the installation of Xerox DC 12. Currently Manifold Graphics boasts of a prepress bureau and has a CTCP by BasysPrint which was supplied by Monotech Systems. For colour management software from Oris has been installed. The company’s printing division has Xerox iGen4, Konica Minolta bizhub Press C6000 and Konica Minolta bizhub Press 1052 black and white machine. The two Konica Minolta machines were also supplied by Monotech Systems. The C6000 was installed in January this year while 1052 was installed in the month of March.

Dhwanil Shah of Manifold Graphics says they went in for the Konica Minolta machines because they wanted a backup machine for Xerox iGen which would be affordable as well as efficient.

“We wanted a backup machine which would not be very expensive but at the same time would be efficient. We were familiar with the Konica Minolta brand and the fact that Monotech Systems was handling the distribution clinched the deal for us. As I said we

have been dealing with Monotech Systems for very long and are happy with their services,” says Shah.

Low maintenance cost

A big positive that Shah spells out about the Konica Minolta machines is low maintenance cost due to low breakdowns. “Being situated in the heart of Mumbai’s business district of Lower Parel we have lot of corporate customers and we cannot afford frequent breakdowns and maintenance breaks. During the last six months when we installed the two Konica Minolta machines we have not had any disruptions,” Shah comments. At present, Manifold Systems manages 40,000 prints per month from C6000 and almost 200,000 prints per month from the black and white Konica 1052.

Quality is a priority

Being situated in the city’s commercial hub generates good business and gets

large corporate clients but, Shah says, this also adds the responsibility of providing quality as these clients are extremely demanding.

“A lot of printers do not have in- depth knowledge of technical factors which affects the final product. But we at Manifold Systems give a huge priority to quality since we also possess good technical knowledge about printing. This gives us an edge over others. In fact lot of other printers in the area outsource jobs to us which they cannot handle due to lack of technical knowhow,” adds Shah.

Shah says that the company not only focuses on churning out quality products but strives to provide quality in customer services as well. “Honesty, discipline and courtesy towards your client is as important as providing excellent quality products. In today’s competitive world these intangibles go a long way in attracting and retaining

clients,” Shah concludes.
