Epson India’s textile division deals in direct-to-garment, direct-to-film, and sublimation printers. The company took part at the 50th Media Expo in Mumbai, where Girish Bhatia, CEO CPS Imaging Technologies – the supplier and stockist for Epson India – held fort at the Epson stand, also handling its workforce copier division.

The Epson stand represented the entire gamut for printing. These included the Epson Surecolor SC-F2130 direct-to-garment (DTG) textile printer with dryers and a coating machine. Epson also showcased the Surecolor SC-F130 A4 dye-sublimation textile printer and the Surecolor SC-F530 large format printer. Along with these, it exhibited large format eco-solvent and latex machines, and high-speed copiers from 100 ppm to 24 ppm.
Our experience at the MediaExpo has been very good. I think the show has been beautiful, the crowd has been fantastic and we see a lot of value customers who are genuine buyers,” Bhatia told Indian Printer & Publisher.

The textile printing industry in India needs to change tremendously and has to come out of screen printing and get into digital to save the environment, he said.

Textile printing is one of the most polluting industries. Screen printing and the conventional form of dyeing and printing are very polluting. We need to encourage more players to come out of the conventional methods and get into more new-generation dyeing and printing processes and greener technology, which can help reduce pollution in the environment. Digital is the upcoming trend,” he added.

Change is the only constant, keep upgrading yourself, keep getting into new technology, reduce wastage, do not make bulk prints on screen, and get into printing so that you can have zero inventory and improve your profitability,” he said.
