Konica Minolta celebrated its 150-year legacy with the launch of four ‘Print Xpress’ buses on 21 March 2023 in Kasna, Greater Noida. The company, a leading provider of digital print solutions, flagged off its first mobile roadshow with the hope to inspire digital print culture and expand its customer reception in the tier 2,3, and 4 cities of India. The buses will cover around these smaller and more remote 100 cities.

Titled ‘Print Xpress – Innovations in print’, the roadshow was launched in the presence of managing director Katsuhisa Asari, deputy managing director Kuldeep Malhotra, and all senior leadership members. The roadshow showcased Konica Minolta’s production printer AccurioPrint C4065 High Chroma Engine, the AccurioPress C73hc, and the finished print application zone to educate potential customers about new business opportunities in the digital print business.

Voyages to discover the potential of Indian print

Asked if the roadshow – a digital press and finishing plant on wheels aims to reach more commercial printers or the packaging industry, Asari told Indian Printer and Publisher, “India is huge and so is its print market. This roadshow will touch base with our customers, potential customers, or curious visitors. We aim to educate Tier 3 and 4 cities about the capabilities that are possible with digital print and how incredible their businesses can be with the right application.”

The core objective behind launching this innovative platform is to connect with new customers and showcase new business possibilities to the existing players and new entrants in the digital production printing space. The four coaches carrying the digital presses set out to travel in all four directions while demonstrating their usage to potential and existing customers. The Konica Minolta roadshow started from Greater Noida and aims to cover Tier 2, 3, and 4 cities such as Meerut, Gorakhpur, Samastipur, Tezpur, Ranipet, Karwar, Kavali, and others, focusing on customers and unmet locations.

At the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Asari said, “We are excited to launch Print XPress, our latest initiative to expand our reach and introduce our advanced printing technologies to the customers. We look forward to meeting new customers we will make nationwide through this show. We are proud to pioneer innovative solutions and services in India’s printing, imaging, and document management industries. We are committed to helping our customers to achieve more efficient, cost-effective, and sustainable workflows. We will continue to strive for excellence in everything we do.”

Kuldeep Malhotra, managing director of Konica Minolta, India, said, “During a storm, all the smaller birds cower and hide, but the eagle soars above the clouds. This is exactly what Konica aspires – to be the best and be readily available for our customers. A leader knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way. Print Xpress is the perfect example to showcase our commitment to reaching and educating others about the currently available digital solutions. In the last 12 years, we as a brand grew multifold.”

Asari and Malhotra flagged off the ‘Print Xpress’, initiating the 100-city journey. The brand has been directly operational in India for the past 12 years, catering to a wide range of printing and document solutions required by Indian corporate customers. The launch of Print Xpress during the 150-year legacy celebrations is expected to bring good results both in touching base with existing customers and educating potential customers.

Indian Printer and Publisher’s editor, Naresh Khanna comments, “Listening to printers across the country and interacting with them by demonstrating the latest technology can be a transformational and inspiring voyage of discovery. For any citizen or company that dares to explore the vast potential of creativity and uses of print that a nation is hungry to communicate and educate, it is bound to be a great learning. This interaction will enhance the power of print and democratize the business. It will engender the access to ideas, education and technology. Print helped to bring freedom to the nation and it is essential to use it more widely to continue to build prosperity and a scientific temper.”
