The Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE), New Delhi is the leading National Professional non-profit making Society for the Technical Education System in our country with the motto of Career Development of Teachers and Personality Development of Students and overall development of our Technical Education System. As the national body of educators in the field of Engineering and Technology, ISTE effectively contributes to the central government jobs.
ISTE recognized the services of the best teachers in Engineering and Polytechnic Colleges and honoured them with Awards every year. Dr M Nandakumar, Principal of Arasan Ganesan Polytechnic College, Sivakasi bagged ISTE Rajaram Patil National Award for promising Engineering Teacher for creative work done in Technical Education (Polytechnics) for the year 2020 during the 50th Annual Convention Award function of ISTE held at Y.B.Chavan Centre, Mumbai on 5th October 2021. Honourable Chief Minister of Maharastra, Uttav Paul Thakrey was the chief guest and the prestigious award was presented to Dr M Nandakumar in the presence of an august gathering of learned academicians.

He has received this award from ISTE for the following categories like publishing articles in Research Journals, Providing Course material for learning content in the easiest way to get 100% results, Community Development Activities, Students’ Academic Performance, Industry Institute Partnership, Motivating students to participate in Intramural Competitions, Sports Achievements, Students’ Placements and insisting new techniques in YOGA for maintaining better health for Staff as well as Students.
Dr M Nandakumar did his PhD on the topic “Green Printing” Environmental Management in Offset Printing at Anna University, Chennai. Moreover, his research papers were published in 5 renowned International Journals, 7 National and International Conferences. He has 25 years of experience in expertise areas like Pre Press, Digital and Offset Printing. He has published the books of Digital and Non-Impact Printing, Designing Software and Desktop Publishing for Diploma students. He is the Coordinator for National Level Common Syllabus Committee for Printing Technology.
He is the Project Coordinator of central and state-funded schemes of Canada India Institutional Cooperation Project, Persons with Disability Project and Community Development through Polytechnic Scheme. He has received “Arutchelvar Dr N Mahalingam Best Polytechnic Teacher Award for Tamilnadu State” by Indian Society for Technical Education, New Delhi in 2013, Outstanding Academician Award by Saveetha Engineering College, Chennai and “UP Government National Award for Outstanding work done in specified areas of Engineering and Technology-Interaction with Industry” by ISTE, in 2019.
He and the staff members of the Printing Department created a separate website for the Printing students. That was very much utilized by the Printing students in and abroad to update themselves. By Honouring his service and dedication AICTE awarded Dr Visvesvaraya Best Teacher Award-2020 to Dr M Nandakumar, the only teacher of Printing selected at the National Level. Our chairman Thiru AMSG Ashokan, our Correspondent A Ganeshkumar and the staff members congratulated the principal, Dr M Nandakumar, for receiving the National Award.
