Ghatkopar-based Harsiddhi Digital Corner began operations about eight years ago. The company has, over the years, continuously upgraded its digital printing capabilities. The print service provider has been a long-time user of Konica Minolta technology and has recently commissioned a brand new Konica Minolta AccurioPress C6100. Before installing the AccurioPress C6100, Harsiddhi Digital Corner was using a Konica Minolta Bizhub Press C1085, which has now been sold.

“We have been associated with Konica Minolta for many years and have been satisfied with their technology, and that is why when we needed to upgrade our printing capabilities, our first choice was Konica Minolta. We installed the new printer around the middle of October after we sold off the older Konica Minolta Bizhub Press C1085. With rise in volumes, we wanted a faster press which could handle bigger size,” says Harji Patel, proprietor of Harsiddhi Digital Corner.

The Konica Minolta C6100 can print at a speed of 100 pages per minute, which is faster than the Bizhub Press C1085, which prints 85 pages per minute. The AccurioPress C6100 uses a fully automated, closed-loop quality management system, as well as accurate front to back registration. It offers 1200 x 1200 dpi (dots per inch) resolution with 8-bit processing. The press can handle up to 400 gsm stock weights – simplex or duplex.

Konica Minolta launched the AccurioPress C6100 / C6085 color digital press series in September 2017. Konica Minolta India showcased the AccurioPress C6085 for the first time at Pamex 2017, which was held in Mumbai.

“By replacing the Bizhub Press C1085 with the AccurioPress C6100, not only can we print faster but can also print a variety of new jobs because of its bigger size. Earlier, we were printing about 5,000 impressions every day, but now we are printing 6,000,” Patel adds.

With the new press fully operational, Patel plans to ramp up daily print volumes further. The aim is to print 7,000 to 8,000 impressions every day in a year, he shares. Harsiddhi Digital Corner prints items, including brochures, danglers, business cards, and other promotional items. It only deals with canvassers and does not approach the end customers directly. In addition to the brand new AccurioPress C6100, Harsiddhi Digital Corner also operates a Xerox C75, which it bought a few years ago.

Talking about the state of the print demand amid talk of economic slowdown, Patel says that there is a lot of buzz about slowdown. Still, Harsiddhi Digital Corner has not felt any significant adverse impact.

“As I mentioned, we have seen our volumes increase. However, I will not be able to say whether this increase is any indication of the state of economic activity. The increase in our print volumes maybe only because of the new press and our customers who were going someplace else now staying with us. So, at this moment, I will not be able to comment if there is a slowdown in print demand or not,” Patel concludes.
