The Epson SureColor SC-T5630DM is witnessing strong adoption in Mumbai’s CAD segment, with more than 70 installations recorded over the past six months, according to Edifice Technologies.
Speaking at Media Expo Mumbai 2026, Saumitra Trivedi said the printer has effectively replaced a large number of existing CAD machines in the market, while also opening up new opportunities in graphics printing. Edifice Technologies is then distributor for Epson in the Mumbai market.
Although primarily designed for CAD applications, the SC-T5630DM features an expanded colour configuration, including cyan, magenta, yellow, black, and light variants of cyan and magenta, enabling a wider colour gamut. This allows users to produce not only technical drawings but also indoor graphics, posters and even photo-quality outputs.
The machine supports multiple substrates such as tracing paper, canvas, vinyl and satin media, making it suitable for both design and display work. This versatility has enabled CAD users to add graphics capabilities without investing in separate equipment.
A major factor driving adoption is the printer’s low running cost. Ink consumption is priced at under INR2 per ml, translating to around INR1 per A0 print. This is significantly lower than competing systems, where costs can reach up to INR15 per ml, resulting in savings of over 90%, Trivedi said.
While the dye-based ink system limits its use to short-run and indoor applications rather than long-term outdoor durability, the SC-T5630DM is emerging as a cost-efficient, multi-purpose solution in Mumbai’s evolving CAD and entry-level graphics market.
