Barely eight months old in the market, Madurai-based Xcellant Xerox is relatively a new commercial printing start-up. Equipped with Xerox digital printing systems, the printer has acquired a new Canon imagePRESS V700 compact digital color production press from Canon India.

Right from graphic designing to scanning, digital printing, programmed cutting, scoring, and lamination, Xcellant Xerox offers printing solutions, quality graphics and finished products under a roof. “We are a new business entity in the market. However, we expansively work on all fronts,” says Syed Abuthahir, partner at Xcellant Xerox.

A small team of four, which is led by Abuthahir and his business partner Rahman, handles the operations. “We are just figuring out the way to expand business and tap new verticals with constant investments in the advanced new machines, such as the iPR V700, and further magnification of manpower,” says Abuthahir, adding the new Canon digital color production press is helping them to liven up graphic prints.

“Though this new iPR V700 is our first machine from Canon India, we have had the experience of a Canon machine with an iPR C600. So, Canon is not new to us as we had already experienced its technological dexterity. As long as the role of the new iPR V700 is concerned, the Canon press running alongside a couple of Xerox machines at Xcellant Xerox is ideally an advanced production system in a small footprint with oversized production,” Abuthahir says.

He continues, “Being a digital press for productivity, repeatable colors, and incredible automation, every single piece of print output we produce on iPR V700 is exceptionally good.” Technically, the iPR V700 is perfectly engineered to print graphics in the industry’s leading resolution of 2400 x 2400 dpi, which are produced at the speed of 70 A4ppm (pages per minute). It prints on varied lightweight and heavyweight substrates ranging from 52 gsm up to 350 gsm.

“In addition to the digital color production press, we are grateful to Canon India for providing us unconditional post-sales service support since we installed the iPR V700 in May this year,” says Abuthahir.

Key products provided by Xcellant Xerox include visiting cards, invitation cards, menu cards, brochures, bills, receipt books, letterheads, and more. Digital large-format or ‘flex’ printing is also a key task of Xcellant Xerox to produce display and promotional signage graphics.
