Mumbai-based Digital print service provider Reliance Graphic recently installed a new Canon imagePRESS V1000 digital production press at its Andheri East branch to enhance its printing prowess. Reliance Graphic has been a long-time Canon customer and operates multiple Canon presses at the Andheri East and Fort branches.
“The Canon imagePRESS V1000 was launched recently and a number of units have been installed in Mumbai. We had got great feedback about it and it was natural for us to go for the high-speed press. Canon is like a family to us and we have had a great relationship with the company,” Pravin Khutiya, proprietor of Reliance Graphic, said.
The Canon imagePRESS V1000 is a versatile machine capable of handling a wide range of print jobs, including brochures, flyers, posters, and other marketing materials. It supports printing on various media types, from traditional paper to cardstock and vinyl.
In 2023, Canon India launched the imagePRESS series, introducing the V1000 and V900 models. The imagePRESS V1000 features a robust front-end controller, the imagePRESS Server D3000, powered by the Fiery FS500 Pro system software. This addition brings new functionalities, a familiar workflow, and prepress features to further enhance the printing process.
After operating in the south Mumbai business hub of Fort for nearly three decades, Reliance Graphic up another branch in the north Mumbai commercial district of Andheri East in 2018. With many colleges, schools and corporate offices driving demand for print, over the past decade, Andheri East has emerged as a major digital printing hub in the city of Mumbai, with some big digital print service providers.
Reliance Graphic’s Andheri East branch is spread over 1,000 square feet and provides to both retail and corporate clients, which constitute 30% and 70% of its customer base, respectively. The branch became operational in December 2018 and houses multiple digital presses.
Digital print is growing
Khutiya is bullish about the digital print market and expects print volumes to expand steadily. “The demand for digital print solutions received a major push post-Covid. There is a lot of digital in packaging and commercials. Yes, the future of digital print is great,” he said.
In the digital print segment, Khutiya expects inkjet technology to become popular going forward. He said inkjet is already in demand in book printing and sees a market for the technology to grow in coming years.
“I am excited about inkjet and looking forward to how this technology gets utilized in the printing industry,” Khutiya said.
