At Media Expo 2024 in Delhi, Kongsberg PCS demonstrated live its Kongsberg X24 Edge, a system from the Kongsberg X series of digital cutting tables. Along with the cutting technology, the company showcased a range of innovative tooling systems designed to enhance the finishing capabilities of sign makers and display professionals.

The Kongsberg X24 Edge stands out for its precision cutting and routing capabilities, which are essential for modern printing and signage applications. The system is designed to handle a variety of substrates with minimal setup time, offering businesses a seamless way to meet the increasingly complex demands of the industry, the company said.

Printing on various substrates is a challenge for printers, which they overcome using different machines, but the real differentiating factor comes in finishing. The Kongsberg X24 Edge, with its cutting and routing capabilities, can handle a wide variety of substrates while reducing labor and floor space needs,” said Muhammad Rafiq Shaikh, sales and service leader for South Asia at Kongsberg PCS. “Printing should be good, but cutting needs to be even better to truly stand out.”

The X24 Edge is designed to surpass the production speeds of traditional routers, lasers, and plotters, offering superior efficiency. Its ability to perform complex cuts and intricate routing on substrates such as acrylic, foam board, MDF, PVC, polycarbonate, and vinyl makes it one of the most versatile systems available for the signage and display industry. During the demonstrations, the machine showcased its ability to route, cut, crease, and notch a wide range of materials.

According to Shaikh, investing in technology is crucial for businesses looking to remain competitive. “Investing in technology provides the differentiating factor that will allow companies to grow and meet customer demands more efficiently,” he said. He emphasized that the Kongsberg X24 Edge not only improves productivity but also offers a significant return on investment for businesses in a highly competitive industry.

Shaikh highlighted the importance of such exhibitions in building brand visibility, networking, and gaining insights into market trends. “It’s been a long time since Kongsberg PCS participated in the Media Expo. This year, we were there to increase our visibility and to get a market reality check of the new players and our competitors in the industry,” he said.

At an exhibition such as Media Expo, displaying the final product allows attendees to compare the output from different companies, all in one place,” he said. While Kongsberg PCS secured a few deals at the exhibition, Shaikh noted that such events primarily serve as a venue for generating leads and building connections that often result in future business.
