Arrow Digital recently installed an EFI Pro 32r+ UV LED roll-to-roll Printer at Concept and Solutions Metfab in Sonepat, Haryana. This addition will allow the company to offer an even wider range of indoor and outdoor applications to its clientele.

Concept and Solution Metfab is well known for its commitment to delivering quality applications and round-the-clock service. Arun Rana, MD of Concept and Solutions, says it’s always exciting to work with Arrow Digital. The Pro 32r+ is the latest cutting-edge technology backed by decades of experience and the most successful model in the roll-to-roll family. The driving factor that made us purchase EFI Pro 32r+ is its performance, cost-saving features, productivity, and a wide array of application possibilities.

Sam Patel, CEO & MD at Arrow Digital says that the EFI Pro 32r+ is 3.2 meters wide, utilizing Ricoh Gen 5, with the 7pl UltraDrop Technology, which produces rich graphics and text with outstanding smoothness in shadows, gradients, and transitions with a true Resolution of up to 600 DPI and a printing speed of 2227 square feet. “Above all, these features come with industry-leading LED curing technology, which allows cost savings with environmental benefits and more. The 5 color printer is equipped with EFI’s UltraDrop technology, providing ultra-quality, ultra-crispness, and ultra-capabilities.

“This technology offers smaller drop sizes and precise control, resulting in ultra-impressive results. The ‘cool cure’ LED technology enables users to increase their profit by offering more premium-margin jobs while reducing operating costs and environmental footprint.”

Rana said they were amazed by the samples for the EFI Pro 32r+. “The colors were astonishing, and the ink coverage and the results made us speechless. Apart from that, the outstanding optional features of EFI Pro 32r+ make it an ideal solution for printing billboards, POS/POP, wall/building wraps, exhibition graphics, fleet graphics, window graphics, and much more. We believe this will help us win more jobs and allow us to enter new segments in signage.”

Sam said the optional features are an X factor that will place a user ahead of the competitor as it enhances efficiency and speeds up the production process. The optional white, automatic blockout & back-to-back and three layer printing are also vital additions that help improve throughput. Along with that, it includes the company’s robust product built-in Fiery Pro Server Core digital front end, featuring FAST RIP acceleration technology, plus RIP and print-on-demand functionality, or the ability to print pre-ripped files at the printer interface.

The new, improved high-speed LED Super range UV inks come with GreenGuard certification, which gives the best color gamut along with outdoor durability with the 3M MCS warranties when needed.

Rana says the addition of EFI Pro 32r+ in our family will definitely open up new opportunities and empower us to provide a complete combination of solutions for our clients and gain the end-users confidence with outstanding quality and durability. “We look forward to adding many more EFI Printers from Arrow Digital as the print output quality always is top-notch, and the service support is marvelous.”

2023 promises an interesting ride for print in India

Indian Printer and Publisher founded in 1979 is the oldest B2B trade publication in the multi-platform and multi-channel IPPGroup. While the print and packaging industries have been resilient in the past 33 months since the pandemic lockdown of 25 March 2020, the commercial printing and newspaper industries have yet to recover their pre-Covid trajectory.

The fragmented commercial printing industry faces substantial challenges as does the newspaper industry. While digital short-run printing and the signage industry seem to be recovering a bit faster, ultimately their growth will also be moderated by the progress of the overall economy. On the other hand book printing exports are doing well but they too face several supply-chain and logistics challenges.

The price of publication papers including newsprint has been high in the past year while availability is diminished by several mills shutting down their publication paper and newsprint machines in the past four years. Indian paper mills are also exporting many types of paper and have raised prices for Indian printers. To some extent, this has helped in the recovery of the digital printing industry with its on-demand short-run and low-wastage paradigm.

Ultimately digital print and other digital channels will help print grow in a country where we are still far behind in our paper and print consumption and where digital is a leapfrog technology that will only increase the demand for print in the foreseeable future. For instance, there is no alternative to a rise in textbook consumption but this segment will only reach normality in the next financial year beginning on 1 April 2023.

Thus while the new normal is a moving target and many commercial printers look to diversification, we believe that our target audiences may shift and change. Like them, we will also have to adapt with agility to keep up with their business and technical information needs.

Our 2023 media kit is ready, and it is the right time to take stock and reconnect with your potential markets and customers. Print is the glue for the growth of liberal education, new industry, and an emerging economy. We seek your participation in what promises to be an interesting ride.
