EFI Reggiani BOLT digital textile printer received the InterTech Technology Award

The single-pass EFI Reggiani BOLT digital textile printer has received the InterTech Technology Award from Printing United Alliance. The InterTech Technology Awards honor technologies predicted to have a major transformational impact on the printing industry. The EFI Reggiani BOLT is the very first textile printer to receive an InterTech Award.

As per EFI, the 1.8 meter-wide EFI Reggiani BOLT is the fastest digital textile printer available, delivering a throughput speed of 90 meters per minute at a 600 x 600 dpi resolution. It features imaging in drop sizes from 5 to 30 picolitres and provides 600 x 4,800 maximum-dpi resolution printing.

To date, three BOLT printers have been installed, one in Italy and two in Pakistan, and one more installation is being finalized in Pakistan. In the first year BOLT printers were in operation, they produced more than 10 million linear meters of printed fabric, and to date, they have printed more than 25 million linear meters worldwide.

The EFI Fiery BT-1000 digital front end colour management and RIP solution drives the printer, enabling efficient job management while streaming jobs directly to the printer in real-time. It is purpose-built to deliver fine detail, smooth gradations, clean solid colours, deep blacks, and high saturation. Superior screening and fine dithering algorithms with the Fiery DFE provide high-quality print results.
