With this visit, 5 new printers’ associations at Jalalabad, Chandigarh, Samrala, Hamirpur and Dehradun emerged. One-to-one contact was possible with more than 1000 printers during this visit.

Speaking on the occasion about the concept, Kamal Chopra, general secretary, OPA said, “Print Yatra is a mission for strengthening the printers of India. Initially we started Print Yatra in 2010 to visit the neighboring cities in Punjab only but Print Yatra started expanding and we started covering Haryana and Jammu by 2012. During 2014, Print Yatra reached Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh also. 2016 was the prime year when some cities of South India were also covered and during the 6th edition of Print Yatra in 2018, the Indian state of Uttarakhand has been also included in the map of Print Yatra. This time we are receiving calls from the remote corners of Rajasthan and North-East states for conducting Print Yatra. We have received invitation from Nepal and Indonesia as well. Hence, Print Yatra may soon become an international event.”

Chopra added, “Though we have already completed the goal for the year by spreading the message of networking in 70+ cities covering a distance of 5607 km, we will continue visiting other cities under this project during 2018.”

Parveen Aggarwal, president, OPA thanked the team of OPA for the success and said the project would not have been possible without the selfless contributions of all OPA members.

About Offset Printer’s Association

Offset Printer’s Association (OPA) was established in 1988 to look after the day-to-day problems of the printing and packaging industry. The OPA which, only a quarter century ago, was a fledging group with a handful of members has now established itself into a dynamic and influential organization that provides a strong voice for the needs of the printing community. OPA strongly adheres to its mission of serving the printing industry. To achieve this motive, OPA has not limited itself to only Ludhiana but tried to reach every corner of the region/country.

OPA is the only and premier association to launch ‘Print Yatra,’ which is a unique project and a very humble beginning to establish complete networking between 250,000 printers of India. Through this project, OPA is motivating the printers to work jointly, form associations and come together for the overall benefit of the printing industry. This project was initiated in the year 2010 and till 2016, OPA has visited 90+ cities and covered approximately 11,000 km in Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and parts of South India. Due to these efforts, 51 new printers’ associations emerged mostly in the northern region.
