Established nearly four decades ago, Delhi/NCR-based Archana Printing Press offers a wide range of printing services to the industry. The company specializes in projects such as annual reports, coffee-table books, box making, art books, brochures, catalogs, promotion folders, newsletters, children’s books, magazines and corporate reports.. Over the years, the quality delivered by the company has earned it as many as 70 plus national awards, with at least one award in almost every product category.
Archana recently bought a brand new Danippon Screen CtP machine and equipped it with the EFI Fiery Workflow Suite for color calibration in the prepress section. In the pressroom Archana runs a 4-color Komori Enthrone 429 with an array of double-size impression and transfer cylinders which ensure consistent performance on short runs on a diverse work mix of substrates. The press is capable of handling thicknesses of 0.04–0.6 mm supporting a maximum sheet size of 480 x 660 mm.
Apart from the aforementioned printing machine, the company also owns a single-color Heidelberg printing press, a single color Ryobi press and a 4-color Mitsubishi D1000 LS – 4 printing press with an aqueous coater. The Mitsubishi D1000 LS was the first press to offer auto-plate loading and can print on sheets with thickness upto 0.8 mm at a speed of 15,000 sheets per hour.
Archana is currently planning to buy a brand new 6-color press and is looking at several brands to zero in on. Rajesh Gupta, director of Archana Printing Press says, “We are looking to buy a new press. This addition has been a part of our expansion plan for quite some time now and we’re looking for the best available option in the market.
“We have been serving the market for decades now. Today, printers everywhere are only looking at grabbing customers and the only way that they can think of doing so is by offering printing jobs at cheaper rates. Over-indulgence in this practice has landed us in a situation where the printers are now involved in dirty competition.”
As per Gupta, Archana Printing Press is here to improve the market. “We do not want to compromise on cost or quality. So, our mindset is different and we operate in a completely different manner. We print only for those who can afford to spend money in return for good-quality printing jobs. Hence, we’re not a part of the dirty rat race that’s going on in the market,” he concludes.
