This year’s WAN-IFRA Conference, to be held from 12 to 14 September 2017, is special as it is the 25th (Silver Jubilee) year of the event in India. The countdown for the event has already begun with WAN-IFRA expressing gratitude to all its sponsors and partners for their support. The three-day event to be held at the Hotel ITC Grand Chola in Chennai is the largest gathering of newspaper publishers in South Asia and is co-sponsored by the Indian Newspaper Society. This year, the silver jubilee WAN-IFRA India conference is sponsored by PPI Media Solutions, manroland web systems, Google and CCI Europe. The publications supporting the event include All About Newspapers, Asian Newsmedia Focus, Gxpress.net, Indian Printer & Publisher, PressIdeas, Rind Survey and World News Publishing Focus.

The WAN-IFRA Silver Jubilee Conference will kick off on 12 September 2017 with three pre-conference workshops—two in the morning and one in the evening. The main conference will begin the next day on 13 September 2017 with keynote address by The Street Inc. This is an excellent platform for media professionals to connect with the right people, get insights from innovators who are transforming the global media industry and learn from case studies and best practices that are directly relevant to a variety of media operations. It is also an opportunity to discover the “Best in South Asia” at the South Asian Media awards ceremony. The venue, Hotel ITC Grand Chola, is ideally located on Mount Road, in Chennai and is close to many key areas of the city, while the domestic and international airport is just 8 km away.

In 2024, we are looking at full recovery and growth-led investment in Indian printing

Indian Printer and Publisher founded in 1979 is the oldest B2B trade publication in the multi-platform and multi-channel IPPGroup. It created the category of privately owned B2B print magazines in the country. And by its diversification in packaging, (Packaging South Asia), food processing and packaging (IndiFoodBev) and health and medical supply chain and packaging (HealthTekPak), and its community activities in training, research, and conferences (Ipp Services, Training and Research) the organization continues to create platforms that demonstrate the need for quality information, data, technology insights and events.

India is a large and tough terrain and while its book publishing and commercial printing industry have recovered and are increasingly embracing digital print, the Indian newspaper industry continues to recover its credibility and circulation. The signage industry is also recovering and new technologies and audiences such as digital 3D additive printing, digital textiles, and industrial printing are coming onto our pages. Diversification is a fact of life for our readers and like them, we will also have to adapt with agility to keep up with their business and technical information needs.

India is one of the fastest growing economies in nominal and real terms – in a region poised for the highest change in year to year expenditure in printing equipment and consumables. Our 2024 media kit is ready, and it is the right time to take stock – to emphasize your visibility and relevance to your customers and turn potential markets into conversations.
