With the gradual deployment of Konica Minolta’s bizhub PRESS C70hc, C8000, C71hc and JET Varnish 3D machines, Pooja Digitals in Telangana has now entered the new digital industrial printing segment.

With printing companies in India facing increased demand for high-quality customizing and other value-adds to create exceptional and unique print products, the challenge to deploy the most efficient industrial printing solutions is at an all-time high. The challenge is felt primarily among small and medium printing businesses that are sometimes limited in their resources and technical know-how.

Telangana-based Pooja Digitals, which started operation in 2009, faced a similar situation owing to changing customer demands before they installed Konica Minolta’s bizhub PRESS C70hc in 2012. This led to a boom in their sales of photo book printing business since the C70hc incorporates High Chroma technology, which produces the RGB color gamut with enhanced efficiency using Konica Minolta’s Simitri HD+ toner, which fuses at lower temperatures for higher speeds without compromising image quality.

In 2013, Pooja Digitals needed to deliver increasing volumes of customized digital prints, which led the company to purchase a KM bizhub PRESS C8000 digital press. In its further expansion in 2015, the company started another branch with a KM C71hc press.

Fourth MGI Jet Varnish industrial solution installed

In December 2016, Pooja Digitals installed the MGI Jet Varnish 3DS digital spot coating solution for both digitally printed and offset printed sheets. The MGI Jet Varnish 3DS machine uses a high gloss coating that delivers a gloss level of 99% GU, far higher that what traditional analog coating technology generally offers. In addition, the two Automatic Registration Camera (ARC) systems embedded in the machine ensure highly precise and complete coating where needed.

“We noticed the sharpness of the embossing is much better in the MGI 3DS while the AIS Smart Scanner made the process easy and time saving by eliminating registration marks. The machine also helped to gear up our existing photo book business and has opened new doors in the commercial print enhancement vertical.’’

“KM digital presses are user friendly in operation. With the high Chroma C71hc, the colors and print quality are superb,’’ comments Pooja Digital’s owner P Rajesh Reddy. “We noticed the sharpness of the embossing is much better in the MGI 3DS while the AIS Smart Scanner made the process easy and time saving by eliminating registration marks. The machine also helped to gear up our existing photo book business and has opened new doors in the commercial print enhancement vertical,’’ adds Reddy.

With an output speed of up to 3,000 sheets per hour and a coating thickness of 30 microns, printers using the MGI Jet Varnish 3DS have an interesting and highly strategic advantage over their competitors for high volume quality industrial print. The eco-friendly coating solution enhances coverage while eliminating the release of volatile solvents and ozone; the machine itself uses minimal power and is extremely quiet in operation.

The fast growing digital printer is full of praise for Konica Minolta’s state-of-the-art industrial printing solutions that are developed for adding more value to print and for the company’s end-to-end approach in providing new and easy-to-use solutions. Reddy adds, “The KM products and service teams have played a key role in our business growth.’’
