Hinderer + mühlich is a member of the Kurz Foil group, a worldwide manufacturer and market leader over several decades in the use of stamping foils. The Kurz group has 4,500 employees and has been present in the Indian market for many years mainly to provide high quality stamping foils for the graphic and plastic industry.
Seeing the need for global quality in the production of various print and consumer product packaging in India, the group decided to begin operations of its diemaking company Hinderer + mühlich in Delhi. In 2016 the H+m state-of-the-art Indian subsidiary commenced operations in the Mayapuri industrial estate in the Delhi NCR.
The intent in establishing the Indian subsidiary was to increase the company’s market focus in the subcontinent. With a local facility for specialized diemaking for foil stamping applications, the company can be immediately responsive to the needs of both existing and prospective customers. Ashish Bansal, H+m India’s country head, says that the company plans “to redefine the standards of diemaking for foil stamping in the country.”
The stamping dies are made from German engraved brass, silicone or steel for transferring the hot stamping foil with brilliant brushed designs and the simulation of chrome and various metallized surfaces, patterns and textures. The machines, processes and quality at the H+m plant in Mayapuri are the same as in the company’s plant in Germany. For maintaining production of dies and tools to the same high standards of quality and precision, the technical staff has also been trained in Germany.
Foil stamping dies are used in many markets including the automotive, appliance, cosmetics, tobacco, medical and pharmaceutical segments. Local manufacturing of the stamping dies will bring to customers the benefits of stamping dies and tools of the highest precision and quality. Users including printers and packaging converters can expect better technical inputs to both improve quality and for the development of innovative designs that maximise impact. The quicker response and lower freight costs will also reduce the overall costs of the best quality in foil stamping.
Bansal adds, “Our commitment is to promptly provide stamping dies and tools of the highest precision and quality. While we maintain our market leadership in Europe, we also want to give a lasting impression to our worldwide markets.”
