Newstech India talked about its recent launches at Pamex 2015. The Mumbai-based company recently launched a paper jogger table, cross strapping machine, aqueous-based coatings and UV curable varnishes. “We tried to focus on these new products at the Pamex. These products cover requirements of commercial printers, packaging printers and the print media industry. The newly launched coating products are for commercial as well as packaging printers. The jogger and cross strapping machines are mainly for the print media industry,” said Roy Alex, managing director of Newstech.

The NTCS 205 cross strapping machine is fully automatic, designed specifically for the print media industry. It is suitable for newspapers, magazines, commercial, circular and mail orders. It has the capacity of single strapping up to 25 bundles a minute and cross strapping up to 20 bundles a minute. The NTPJ-102 jogger table is a plug and play 230 Volts vibrating table, which efficiently aligns a newspaper for insertion. With the help of the jogger table, a person requires around 10 seconds to prepare the stack and without it, one needs about 25 seconds.

According to Alex, these technologies would help increase automation in the industry in these competitive times. “Material handling in the Indian print industry is very rudimentary. Products like joggers and cross strappers will help increase automation. Labour costs in India are rising, labour supply is also very erratic. On top of that manual work leads to a lot of wastage. In these competitive times one cannot afford to work in such an environment and automation is the only way to move forward.”

Alex added that on the first day the response at Pamex was lukewarm but from the second day onwards footfall increased significantly and the company got good enquiries for its products. “There were a lot of enquiries about the jogger not only for jogging newspapers and magazines but other items. People wanted to know how this could be useful for products beyond newspapers and magazines.”
