Mumbai’s Arrow Digital, distributor of a range of materials and equipment for the digital printing and cutting markets, displayed two products at Media Expo Mumbai held from 16 to 18 January 2015 at Bombay Exhibition Centre. The first machine showcased was Color Painter M-64s wide-format printer by Japan’s Seiko Infotech.

“The biggest advantage of this printer is its very high speed compared to other printers in the category,” said Sohel Dalal. “This was launched just two months ago and is being officially inaugurated at Media Expo here in Mumbai.” Dalal added that the new printer has revolutionized the lowodour eco-solvent inkjet printer segment with its high-speed print engine plus low-odour WX ink.

The printer is compatible with rollbased media such as adhesive vinyl, banners, PVC and others and has a maximum speed of 535 square feet an hour. About the newly developed eco solvent WX ink, Dalal said its offers a wide color gamut, vividness, high density, good outdoor durability and low running cost in addition to the low level of odour. “For the Seiko printer we are specifically targeting customers from the signage segment who are willing to pay a premium for higher printing speed,” Dalal said.

The second machine at the company stand was the 1024 UV highspeed LED flatbed printer by Direct Color Systems. The printer has a printable area of 10 x 24 inches and can print on wood, metal, ceramics, plastics, glass, industrial parts and promotional items.

“We are displaying this printer for the second time at Media Expo. This was launched at the last edition of Media Expo where it got a very good response. During the year since the launch we have sold four printers. Initially we had not planned to display the printer at this year’s event but going by how good the response was at the last edition of Media Expo we decided to showcase it again,” Dalal stated.

Finally, commenting on the experience the company had at the Media Expo event, Dalal said that the first day was a bit dull but the final two days were good. “Our main aim was to make the industry aware of the new Seiko printer through this event. We are satisfied but would like to point out that footfall was lower than that seen in last year’s event,” he said.
