Monotech Systems, a printing technology solutions provider, showcased its wide-format printers and printing innovations targeted at the gifting, novelty, and commercial printing markets at Media Expo 2026, held from 17 to 19 September at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.
Talking to Indian Printer & Publisher, Manoj Kumar Garg, vice president, WFG, Monotech Systems, said the footfall at this year’s exhibition was better than the previous edition, leading to meaningful interactions with visitors from the visual communication business.
Addressing the current state of the industry, Garg noted that market demand was gradually stabilizing following recent supply chain disruptions. Fluctuating oil prices, rising container freight costs, and elevated import expenses had temporarily created a challenging economic backdrop, but the overall market has shown marked improvement compared to the previous quarter.
Simultaneously, competition within the sector has intensified, driven largely by Japanese inkjet innovators such as Ricoh, Toshiba, and Riso, which are aggressively vying for market share in a highly competitive, cut-throat landscape.
The exhibition proved fruitful for Monotech, with several major equipment deals finalized. Sales were primarily driven by strong client footfall from North and West India, with customers showing heavy interest in advanced UV systems, including 8×4 configurations, as well as Mimaki product portfolios distributed by Monotech through authorized local dealerships.
Strong prospective leads built during the event signal positive momentum and continued technology adoption for the upcoming quarters.
Key highlights on display included versatile A1 and A2 printers operating with Epson’s PrecisionCore technology, featuring specialized capabilities such as foiling, rotary attachments, and UV-DTF multi-function printing.
Making its debut at the event was a brand-new 4×5 machine powered by Ricoh Gen6 and Maglev technology capable of handling media up to 6 inches in height, alongside a hybrid printer supporting both roll-to-roll and flatbed applications.
Companies highlighted their expanding footprint in neon technology, confirming steady market installations across Delhi-NCR.
On market demand, Garg said that UV-based technologies are garnering better demand, driven by sustainability. “UV-cured inks allow you to print on virtually any surface, rigid or flexible, making it ideal for a wider range of applications. We showcased both hybrid and dedicated solutions for roll-to-roll and flatbed printing. Print durability, substrate versatility, and the possibility of multiple applications are also factors fueling its adoption.”
