Pragati’s Calendar FY 2026–27

Every year, Pragati Offset pushes the boundaries of print with its calendar, and the 2026–27 edition is no exception. Known for transforming print into a tactile and visual experience, this year’s calendar takes a narrative turn that celebrates ‘Little Tales, Lasting Lessons.’ Drawing from well-known children’s tales, such as The Crow and the Pitcher, The Fox and the Grapes, and The Frog Prince, each story becomes a canvas where narrative meets nuanced print engineering and reproduction.

Starting with the April–May page, the familiar tale of the crow is elevated through precise spot UV detailing and finely executed black screen printing, all printed on a 300 gsm Munken Pure. The contrast between matte surfaces and gloss highlights brings the illustration to life.

For June–July, the narrative of the fox and the grapes is interpreted with a sophisticated combination of 4-color printing, spot UV accents on the grapes, and textured black screen print overlays. The addition of gravure gold detailing introduces a metallic richness, demonstrating how traditional techniques can coexist with contemporary design sensibilities. Printed on 250 gsm natural art silk, the substrate enhances both color depth and surface feel.

The August–September spread showcases the frog prince story in a vibrant 6-color printing process, pushing the color gamut beyond conventional limits. Micro-embossing and spot UV continue to play a defining role. Printed on an ITC Safire graphic board, this section showcases Pragati’s command over color accuracy and layered finishing.

The October–November spread illustrates the tale of the lion and the hare with a more experimental approach. A carefully engineered laser-cut layer adds dimensionality, interacting with underlying textures created through screen printing and selective coating. The images of the lion and hare are highlighted on one page and are laser cut, whereas the shadows are being printed on the overleaf with black screen printing. The two pages are printed on 250 gsm WCC Cali cobblestone and 210 gsm ITC Cyber XL board, respectively.

As the calendar progresses, Pragati’s experimentation with technical complexity grows. The December-January 2027 spread highlights the story of The Blue Jackal, where the jackal falls into blue dye and pretends to be a royal creature, ruling the forest until he reveals himself by howling. The spread employs 7-color printing, enhanced by the selective use of blue gravure inks and embossing effect. The interplay of raised surfaces and smooth gradients creates a multi-sensory experience, providing a touch-and-feel effect.

The final section for February-March 2027 brings together 5-color printing with intricate cold foil work to highlight the story of the goose that laid golden eggs. The print on 300 gsm BILT gloss art card is a combination of matte and gloss coatings applied with precision.

Thoughtful enhancement beyond print

What sets this calendar apart is not just the diversity of techniques implemented, such as spot UV, embossing, cold foil, screen printing, laser cutting, and gravure, but the way they are used to serve a narrative purpose. Each technique is thoughtfully applied, enhancing the story rather than overshadowing it.

This year’s invention or calendar again offers a glimpse into the evolving landscape of print innovation. Pragati has consistently been among the earliest adopters of emerging technologies, and this progressive approach is evident year after year in the calendars it unveils. Each edition not only reflects their technical prowess but also sets a benchmark for what is possible in contemporary print, reinforcing their position at the forefront of the industry. The company clearly believes in calendars as one of the most influential and compelling formats for branding.

In an era increasingly dominated by digital media, Pragati’s FY2026–27 calendar is a reminder of print’s enduring ability to engage the senses. It reinforces the idea that print is not static; it is experiential, emotional, and deeply human.

With this edition, Pragati once again demonstrates that innovation in print is not only about adopting new technologies, but about reimagining how stories can be told — layer by layer, dot by dot, texture by texture, page by page, and thought by thought.
