Hyderabad, India-based Pragati Offset, widely recognised as one of the finest quality printers anywhere in the world, has been awarded the Fogra Process Standard Offset (PSO) certification. Announced on 2 July 2025, the award by Fogra Forschungsinstitut für Medientechnologien the German institute for print technology standardization, of the PSO certification represents the gold standard in printing process control and quality consistency. It is granted only after a stringent evaluation of colour management, proof creation, platemaking, and offset printing production processes as per the latest ISO 12647 standards.

Fogra’s Linked In post says, “Fogra is delighted to congratulate Pragati Offset Pvt. Ltd. from India on its successful certification according to ProcessStandard Offset. The company is the first print shop in India to be PSO certified by Fogra. The disciplines comprise prepress, platemaking and production printing. The PSO Partner, Kulakkada Pradeep, from Future Schoolz, conducted the certification test.”

“This certification is a testimony to Pragati’s unrelenting pursuit of perfection in print. We’ve always been at the forefront of quality and innovation, and now with the Fogra PSO certification, we align our practices with the best in the world,” said Narendra Paruchuri, managing director of Pragati Offset. To be sure Pragati has always been an extremely process-standardized printer for the past twenty years and the first in the country to be able to print by numbers by measuring the control strip at the tail of the sheet on its numerous specially configured multicolor presses.

The certification assures clients of unmatched color accuracy, predictable results, and international-level production consistency, reinforcing Pragati’s reputation as the most trusted partner for premium print solutions. The certification process was conducted by Fogra PSO Partner Future Schoolz, and rigorously evaluated by Fogra. The results of the test were fully compliant, with all critical quality parameters achieved well within tolerance.

Pragati installs Komori GL29 6-color plus coater plus seventh color

In the last week of June, Pragati inaugurated another highly configured and complex Komori offset press, the second in the past couple of years. The GL729 29-inch multicolor press is specially configured – a replica in the smaller format to the company’s Komoro 40-inch GL740 press with 6-colors with interdeck UV curing, followed by a coater and dryer and then a seventh print unit, and end-of-press curing. The entire press uses UV curing.

The press can be used for the company’s commercial printing as well as its paperboard and litholaminated board packaging. Its configuration allows the use of a special color or coating in the seventh unit for various special effects such as combining matt and gloss coatings, haptic and metallic effects. As Paruchuri has commented earlier, it allows all print, coating, and special effect processes to be executed in a single pass – saving labor and time as well as substrate.
