Jagran Prakashan Q3FY25: Profits stay in uneven revenue ground

Jagran Prakashan, publishers of Dainik Jagran and Nai Dunia, has reported the financial results for the quarter ended December 31, 2024 Q3FY25 and nine months of the financial year 2024-25 (9MFY25).

Q3FY25 results

Consolidated operating revenue for the group in Q3FY25 stood at Rs 516.50 crore, up by 1.1% from Rs 510.97 crore in Q3FY24. Advertisement revenue, on the other hand, was reported Rs 368.07 crore in Q3FY25, slightly up from Rs 366.77 crore in Q3FY24. Circulation revenues, in comparison, stood at Rs 84.39 crore in Q3FY25 as against Rs 88.32 crore in Q3FY24.

Other operating revenue in Q3FY25 was Rs 64.04 crore, up by 14.6% from Rs 55.88 crore from last year. Digital revenue was Rs 30.27 crore, up by 8.5% from Rs 27.91 crore in Q3FY24.

Operating profit stood at Rs 93.46 crore in Q3FY25 as against Rs 104.75 crore in Q3FY24. Other income was Rs 21.13 crore compared to Rs 26.52 crore Q3FY24. Profit before tax was at Rs 82.17 crore in Q3FY25 as against Rs 97.07 crore in Q3FY24. Profit after tax was Rs 62.72 crore as against Rs 73.48 crore in Q3FY24.

9MFY25 results

In the nine months of FY 25, consolidated operating revenues stood at Rs 1407.13 crore as against Rs 1424.27 crore in 9MFY24. Advertisement revenue was Rs 976.86 crore as against Rs 994.75 crore in 9MFY24. Circulation revenue was reported at Rs 252.57 crore in 9MFY25 as against Rs 273.17 crore in 9MFY24.

Other operating revenues wa Rs 177.69 crore in 9MFY25, up by 13.6% from Rs 156.35 crore in 9MFY24. Digital revenue stood at Rs 79.97 crore, up by 5.4% from Rs 75.90 crore. The operating profit was Rs 226.51 crore in 9MFY25 as against Rs 246.10 crore in 9MFY24. PBT was at Rs 202.07 crore in 9MFY25 as against Rs 210.49 crore in 9MFY24  PAT was Rs 145.40 crore as against Rs 158.89 crore in 9MFY24.

The Dainik Jagran print edition’s operating revenue was Rs 311.62 crore in Q3FY25, Rs 266.44 crore in Q2FY25 and Rs 314.05 crore in Q3FY24. The operating profit was Rs 72.26 crore, Rs 59.64 crore and Rs 78.70 crore respectively.

The operating revenue of other publications such as Midday, Naidunia, INext, Punjabi Jagran, Inquilab-North & Sakhi was Rs 61.99 crore, Rs 59.87 crore and Rs 67.16 crore in Q3FY25, Q2FY25, Q3FY24 respectively. The operating profit was Rs 7.30 crore, Rs 4.03 crore and Rs 10.19 crore in the same order.
