At the Print Summit 2025 hosted by BMPA on 16 January, Sascha Fisher of Koenig & Bauer presented the company’s advancements and achievements over the past year, with the spotlight on innovations unveiled at drupa 2024. Among the highlights was the Rapida 76, a small-format printing press designed for flexibility and high-quality output.

Fisher emphasized the company’s integration of cutting-edge technology into its operations. He said Koenig & Bauer is developing a digital customer portal and considering the use of artificial intelligence to replace its traditional hotline, in an attempt to enhance customer service.

The company’s offset and inkjet presses now enable operators to communicate directly with the machines, a leap forward in user-machine interaction, he said. Fisher showcased the Varijet 106 hybrid press, which combines advanced coating and printing capabilities, allowing for diverse applications, from luxury packaging to short-run digital printing.

The presentation featured key innovations, including a sheetfed multicolor offset press capable of operating at an impressive speed of 22,000 sheets per hour. Fisher explained how this technology not only benefits high-volume food packaging applications but also boosts efficiency across other sectors by increasing average operating speeds.

Fisher introduced the Cut Pro X rotary die cutter, which allows simultaneous cutting, tracing, and stamping in a single run, enhancing productivity. He highlighted the versatility of Koenig & Bauer machines, capable of handling various substrates, including paper, foil, and metal.

The event spotlighted Koenig & Bauer’s growing presence in India, with over 300 installations across the country and a strong team of engineers providing local and global support. Fisher commended the contributions of Indian partner Indo Polygraph Machinery and emphasized the company’s commitment to offering customized solutions to meet diverse printing and packaging needs.

In closing, Fisher thanked attendees and reiterated Koenig & Bauer’s dedication to supporting the industry with innovative, reliable, and efficient technologies.
