The Bengaluru-headquartered Megabound, a leading manufacturer of complete hard-case solutions for book binding and rigid box making solutions, has been serving the Indian market over the last couple of decades and the company is now swiftly expanding its client base in the overseas markets too. During the drupa 2024, Megabound pulled the attentions of hosts of international buyers with landmark sealing of deals of more than 50 machines.

N Srinivasa Reddy, director-marketing, Megabound, informs, “This year, for the first time we marked our significant participation as an exhibitor at drupa. In the earlier editions of the show we just attended for distributing our product catalogues and a bit of company’s promotion. But this year, we had a booth in Hall 14 where showcased eight of our key book binding and rigid box making machines.’

He adds, “At the end of the show, we confirmed the sales of more than 50 units of our machines worth around Rs 6 crore to buyers from Europe, Africa, America, Middle-East and Asia. When I say Asia, it includes a couple of orders placed by two eminent companies from India. After all, it was exciting to see around 300 trade visitors from India rushed to our booth during the show.”

Those countries wherefrom the buyers of Megabound machines came during drupa 2024 were Greek, Morocco, Romania, Turkey, West Indies, Kenya, Sri Lanka, Algeria, etc. “We are excited about our expansion of client base globally. Penetration to the European market is certainly a big achievement for us. It means our machines have met stringent European standards in terms of designs and operations,” Reddy says.

He says Megabound has undergone a series of certifications regarding safety protocols and product designs as per the regulations of EU (European Union). “Achieving all these standardisations is to ensure our products and technologies are strictly followed the European ergonomic and aesthetic preferences, in addition to Indian norms,” he describes.

Reddy is now fully confident to say visitors from Europe and other continents at the global shows like drupa would never underestimate Megabound products and others which are purely ‘Made in India’ but strictly followed global standards. “During drupa 2024, many visitors, should I precisely say buyers of Megabound machines, never expected such products from India,” he emphasises.

Some of the ever demanding binding and packaging Megabound machines which have been successfully sold in the domestic as well as international markets include Automatic Board-to-Board Pasting Machine, Rigid Box V Grooving Machine, Rotary Board Cutter, Semi-Automatic Case Maker (CB-310), Automatic Case Maker Active Dual, Automatic Book & Paper Pasting Machine, Automatic Top Gluing Conveyer, to mention a few.

“Manufacturing our machines into the European standards will eventually position us, our products and India as a country to gain a broader global recognition,” conveys Reddy, adding conclusively, “We are eager for the next drupa, that’s drupa 2028, where Megabound will surely unpack more machines and marvels!”
