Surat-based Klick Digital Press, a graphic process unit dealing in rendering offset printing services and products such as wedding photo albums, fashion catalogs, leather covers, leather boxes, photo boxes and photo cover pads and more, has recently installed a Scodix S75 at their plant in Kuberji Textile Park.

When Bhawan Navapara of Klick Digital Press first saw the machine at drupa 2012, he was impressed by the ability of the machine to replicate metallic foils and embossed finishes digitally without the need for a block or die, thus addressing a growing demand for metallic finishes in the short-run arena. “We decided to buy the Scodix S75 when we first saw it at drupa 2012,” says Navapara. “The machine has the ability to build texture in any number of levels on a single sheet. It can add gloss or matt highlights and that opens up lots of opportunities.”

Scodix S75 press along with Scodix Metallic was unveiled at Dscoop 8 in the United States in 2013. Enabling the easy creation of metallic colors in a selective digital process, this cutting- edge technology allows print service providers (PSPs) to bring even more print enhancements in-house.

“The Scodix S75 and Scodix Metallic quality effect provides an experience that has never been seen or felt before in the printing industry,” says Scodix CEO, Kobi Bar. The Scodix Metallic look and feel can only be created by using Scodix S digital enhancement presses with the Scodix RSP Technology (rate, scale and position). By utilizing two CCD cameras and Scodix IP image algorithm, every image can be manipulated (scaling the image on X and Y axes, shifting and rotating it when required), ensuring perfect quality and precise print registration and the delivery of perfect metallic colors.

Amritpal Singh Bawa, deputy general manager – digital enhancement and application software at Monotech, says, “We are happy with the successful installation of Scodix S75 at Klick Digtial Press. This is the first Scodix S75 machine installation in West India which will cater to photographic and commercial digital enhancement demands. Now customers can get Scodix Metallic effects along with special metallic effects through Scodix and Color logic software which can really add value to the print enhancement business.”
