Trident, a vertically integrated textile and paper provider, exhibited its latest range of notebooks and relaunched its Enviro Copier paper in 65 GSM at PaperEx 2023, held from 6-9 December, at the India Expo Centre, Greater Noida. Trident Paper is among the largest wheat straw-based paper manufacturers based in Ludhiana, Punjab.

The company operates in three business segments— textiles, paper, and chemicals with manufacturing facilities in Punjab and Madhya Pradesh.

Focussed on embracing a greener tomorrow, Trident revamped its copier packaging by incorporating Himalayan flowers and unveiled it at the Trident Associate Meet in August 2023.

At Paperex 2023, the company launched an array of themed notebooks, ranging from the futuristic Cyberpunk to the cultural richness of Sanskriti. The group re-launched its Enviro Copier Paper in 65 GSM. Targeting the masses, it offers stunning performance and is a real value for money, the company claimed.

Abhishek Gupta, CEO, strategy and marketing, at Trident Group, said, “With this latest range, new packaging, and the relaunch of Enviro, we are not just presenting products; we are weaving stories, capturing imaginations, and fostering relationships with the consumers. At Trident, we believe in offering more than just paper; we provide a canvas for ideas and a space for inspiration. Our notebooks are not just pages; they are gateways to boundless creativity and productivity.”

Markonda Patnaikuni Srikanth, head of marketing and sales of the paper division, claims that the company’s responsibility aligns well with sustainability. He said, “We do not cut trees, we plant them. The paper we produce utilizes wheat straw as raw material instead of tree bark. This empowers the farmers as they profit from what they consider waste. The stubble is often burnt by farmers, which pollutes the air and degrades the fertility of their fields.”

The event saw Trident unveiling the ‘The Good Paper Warrior’ mascot for its paper portfolio. Trident Group produces about 1.75 lakh tons of paper annually using wheat straw sourced from farmers. Trident is actively working on expanding both its capacity and product range.

With the vibrant growth in the Indian Paper Industry, we foresee a gradual and consistent upward trajectory in the paper sector. This positive trend is expected to be fuelled by factors such as India’s economic growth, escalating paper consumption, and supportive government initiatives,” Gupta said.

According to Gupta, Trident Paper’s influence extends globally, constituting 10-15% of overall sales in export markets. The primary focus lies on key markets in Africa, the Middle East, ANZ, and North America. “This strategic international presence perfectly aligns with Trident’s vision of actively contributing to the growth and sustainability of the global paper industry,” he said.
