Print Point, a print service provider located in the Andheri West suburb of Mumbai, recently commissioned a new Canon imagePRESS V1000 production digital printer to meet the growing demand for high-quality, fast printing from its customers.
The company serves a large number of corporate and retail customers in the area, and the new press will help it improve its efficiency and productivity. The Canon imagePRESS V1000 is a high-speed, digital printer that can handle various print jobs, including brochures, flyers, posters, and other marketing materials. It can print on a variety of media, including paper, cardstock, and vinyl.
Dharmesh Hanat, the second generation at Print Point, said the company was looking for a new press that would meet the needs of its growing customer base. “Our print volumes are large, and we were looking for a press that could handle a high volume of jobs while still producing high-quality prints,” he said. “The Canon imagePRESS V1000 was the perfect fit for us.”
“We operate a Canon imagePRESS C850 we bought about four years ago. So, we were familiar with Canon’s technology and the after-sales service. When we saw the Canon imagePRESS V1000 at Pamex 2023, we liked it,” Hanat added.
Hanat said customers these days demand quick service with top quality and that is where a press like Canon imagePRESS V1000 provides an edge to printers.
“Customers today are very demanding. They want top quality with lightning-fast service. If we have to compete, survive, and grow in this environment, we need to have the best technology. That is what will set us apart from the rest,” Hanat adds.
Talking about some of the salient points, Hanat said the best part is that the press can process 400gsm paper and offer duplex printing on heavy-weight media, ensuring highly accurate front-to-back registration. The press offers very consistent print quality, he added.
Canon India announced the launch of a new generation of the imagePRESS series, comprising V1000 and V900, on 27 March at Pamex 2023 in Mumbai.
The imagePRESS V1000 has a strong front-end controller option: the imagePRESS Server D3000. Powered by the Fiery FS500 Pro system software, the imagePRESS Server D3000 adds new functionalities, including familiar workflow and prepress features. In addition, the Express Media Colour Manager and Auto Recall combined with the ILS deliver swift color management.
Robust digital print market
For Print Point, the business is pretty robust with smart recovery seen in print volumes in the last year after the removal of all pandemic-related restrictions. With the news press installed, Print Point has also started print orders from smaller printers in the area.
“Our print volumes have been very good in the last year. Although we give priority to our own jobs, we have also gradually started taking orders from some smaller printers who want their job done on the Canon imagePRESS V1000. We are also working with a lot of start-ups. We aim to print more than 100,000 impressions of 12X18-inch size very soon,” Hanat concludes.
