Panipat-based Bonny Enterprises installed a 4-color Komori Enthrone 29 in April 2015. Established in 1995, the company prints and converts fabrics labels, hangers, headers, tags, band roll for clients such as Walmart (US), Dollar General (US), Target (Australia), Nitori (Japan), TK Maxx (UK), Lows (US), ALDI (UK), Ross Stores (US) and many others. “The Komori Enthrone 29 is our first new press ever. After we faced a lot of issues with our existing old presses, we decided to buy a new press. While speed of the press is as crucial as quality for running a successful print business, we kept quality as our main priority while deciding on the new press. Delightfully, we now enjoy both speed and quality – thanks to the Enthrone 29,” says Abhinav Mahajan of Bonny Enterprises. “Our productivity has increased by 25% after the installation of the new press.” Bonny Enterprises converts around 100 tonnes of paper boards every month. For short-run jobs and sampling, Bonny installed a Konica Minolta C6000 about three years ago.

Bonny Enterprises has also installed a Kodak Trendsetter 400 Platesetter in October 2015. “Our prepress division consumes around 2,000 plates every month with plates mainly from Kodak. Having our own prepress setup has helped us in taking charge of quality and on-time delivery to a large extent.”

Bonny Enterprises follows Walmart ethical compliance and holds a Yellow Card from Walmart. “We follow various ethical compliances helping create a workplace culture where all employees are treated with respect. Although we don’t have a huge workforce, we encourage a positive and nurturing environment for our employees which in turn improves their morale and has a positive effect on productivity. We also follow health and safety guidelines with fire detection and prevention devices in place,” says Mahajan.

Speaking about the challenges in Panipat, Mahajan says, “In Panipat the volume is less and there is huge competition. Hence, it takes longer to achieve a break-even for our investments. In Panipat you hardly get any order from pharmaceutical or FMCG companies. It is mainly a textile market with a low volume. But we are very optimistic and are searching for new business avenues. In fact we will be ordering another 5-color press this year to pass the technical audit of a couple of US companies to get business from them.”
