Manugraph India along with its business partner in Japan, Seiken Graphics, has jointly sold its first single width (2 x 1) web offset press in Japan to the KII MINPOU Company, a prominent player in the Japanese newspaper printing industry. The press is a singlewidth (2 broadsheets wide x 1 page in circumference) press with a speed of 36,000 copies an hour. The press configuration includes two 4-Hi towers and two single units, all with spray dampening and color registration and cut-off control systems.
“We are happy to have extended our global footprint to Japan,” said Manugraph managing director Pradeep Shah. “And we will continue to focus on transforming technology into innovative solutions, which offer great value and an ever-widening range of applications to the Japanese market,” he added.
The sale of the first single-width web offset press in Japan, by the two formidable press manufacturing leaders Manugraph and Seiken, marks an important new beginning, in providing a combination of appropriate solutions to the newspaper printing industry in Japan. Both companies are extremely hopeful of increasing their sales, especially in each other’s traditional markets with compelling value proposition solutions.
By leveraging their mutual business and domain experience, the companies can certainly lead the next phase of growth in the single-width web offset sector in Japan. Manugraph has installations of 2 x1 presses across Asia, Middle East, Africa, North & South America, Europe and Australia, while Seiken has had similar success in recent years with its 4 x 1 presses, including installations in South India. Manugraph also manufactures 4 x 1 presses, which it has thus far sold in India.
