With about one-and-a-half month to go for the biggest printing exhibition in India, the stage is set to bring the entire industry under one roof once again this year at Printpack India 2017 from 4 to 8 February at the India Expo Mart in Greater Noida which is part of the Delhi National Capital Region (NCR). The Delhi NCR is itself one of the strongest printing centres in the country with numerous new newspaper and packaging plants
as well as a strong print consumer base from cities including Gurgaon and Faridabad. The Indian book publishing industry is also now largely based in Delhi-NCR and is serviced by
many of the large book printers and exporters.

One of the key changes is the election of a new governing committee for this year’s event.
Industry veteran HV Sheth of Noidabased Sheth Printograph has been chosen as the new president, followed by four regional vice-presidents—PK Bhalla of Manugraph, Vinay Kumar
Gupta of AEC Machinery, CN Ashok of Autoprint and Jaiveer Singh of Rotta Print India for the western, northern, southern and eastern regions, respectively.

After the unfortunate and sad demise of Balkrishan Khindria of Memory Repro Systems, who was originally appointed as the general secretary, Naveen Gupta of Prakash Offset Machinery has been appointed the new general secretary of IPAMA. He is followed by joint secretaries Satish Kaushik of Web Masters, Dayaker Reddy of Gutenberg Machinery and Iqbal Singh of Sond Associates. Dharmesh Arora of Fair Deal Engineers will be the new treasurer. The newly elected body has 24 governing council members.

Speaking to HV Sheth, president of IPAMA, we were told that there is already a confirmation of around 280 participants for the show. Sheth is confident of touching
about 400 participants covering an area of 18,000 sq. m very soon while we believe that the bookings have already reached or surpassed 15,000 sq. m. He emphasized the
need for technological upgradation, development and smooth coordination among the members of the association. He also highlighted the need to open an institute for imparting technical training for the betterment of the industry.

During the exhibition, Printpack 2017 is set to reveal and show live demos of a range of digital presses, for short to large print runs in varying sizes and formats. Printpack will highlight ample choice for all segments of printing, packaging, converting, and signage  requirements. Sheth says, “For exhibitors, it will not only be a great launch pad, but the most effective medium to make sales and set up new technology partnerships besides
being a worthwhile opportunity to demonstrate their innovative technologies.”

“IPAMA is set to provide maximum international standard facilities for both exhibitors and
visitors at the modern Expo Centre in Greater Noida. The participants are determined to provide maximum information on their exhibits by display, live demos and printed
literature on their innovations. Business visitors will have an ample opportunity to watch and participate in technical sessions and live demos conducted by the experts of the industry,” says Sheth.

Major exhibitors such as Provin Technos will be showing live demonstrations of two RMGT
presses—a 36-inch, 5-color 920 press with coater and a 13-17 inch, 4-color 3304 press. Vinay Kaushal of Provin Technos is also considering the possibility of showing a multiwavelength UV LED system at its stand this time.

Konica Minolta will be displaying its digital presses such as the C1100 and the C1085 presses. It will also be showing the MGI JetVarnish products. In addition, it will also show some of its newest software, such as for web to print, proactive maintenance and workflows, at Printpack 2017.The show is likely to reach 300 exhibitors including Indian, Asian and global manufacturers of printing, converting and ancillary equipment including major manufacturers such as Bobst.

Printpack at the Greater Noida exposition centre has found a modern home with excellent
exhibition and conference facilities. With excellent access using the new Expressway that is just a couple of hours north of Agra and buses provided by the organizers from the Botanical Gardens metro station, the exhibition promises to be an event with visitors from across India and its neighboring countries.
