Archroma, a global enterprise in specialty chemicals towards sustainable solutions, was at Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics – Autumn Edition (Intertextile), to present its latest innovations and system solutions aimed to help textile manufacturers in China with optimized productivity and/or value creation in their markets.

The Archroma way

The solution systems and innovations presented by Archroma have all been selected for their compliance with “The Archroma Way to a Sustainable World: Safe, efficient, enhanced, it’s our nature”.

All cost and resource savings are substantiated using the One Way Impact Calculator, a proprietary process simulation and calculation tool designed to provide an accurate estimate of the process costs, resource utilization, effluent discharge quality, and CO2 emissions of production processes and systems.

At Intertextile, visitors were able to discover the 70+ systems recently developed by Archroma along the principles of The Archroma Way to help them create value in their textile applications and markets. All systems can be found on the Archroma System Selector.

Outdoor & active wear

Archroma offers 17 systems that can be used in for outdoor and active wear applications, in particular:

Fast Sport x Hydry, an ultimate sportswear system that keeps polyester colorful, dry, and fresh for longer. The system offers a PFC-free* soil release benefit as well as an antimicrobial effect for freshness and odor management. The system itself comes with an optimized application process with up to -25% process time, -41% water consumption, -45% energy consumption, -45% chemical usage, and -49% CO2 emission.

Color Vibe, a system for nylon sportswear to maintain color vibrancy, time after time, wash after wash. The optimized and efficient process used at all stages allows -8% process time, -13% energy consumption, -39% chemical usage, and -11% CO2 emission compared to a benchmark reactive dye system.

Pigment dyeing and printing

Archroma offers 7 systems for printing. The Archroma experts at Intertextile presented 2 formaldehyde-free* systems:

Just Color, a stress-free coloration system for cotton, polyester, and blends, that allows to create brilliant pale to medium shades resistant to light and bleach… whilst using significantly less chemicals and water. The process is optimized to reduce up to -79% water consumption, -68% chemical usage and -14% CO2 emission compared to a benchmark polyester/cotton reactive/disperse dyeing.

Bright Extract, an innovative 3-in-1-step system that enables brilliant and deep prints with the ability to dry-discharge to a bright white, with sharp and distinct lines. The system process can help reduce up to -68% process time, -23% water consumption, -51% chemical usage, and -59% CO2 emission compared to a benchmark discharge printing.
