Monotech Systems, a digital printing solutions provider, has developed the KnowzzleJet M880, which it says is the world’s first 34-inch roll-to-fold inkjet web press. The press is built in collaboration with Pressline India, a manufacturer and exporter of digital, inkjet web and web offset printing presses.
Signaling a shift in the global printing landscape, the unveiling of the KnowzzleJet M880 is aimed at the gap between traditional industrial offset and high-speed digital efficiency. The launch marks a step forward for the domestic inkjet press manufacturing sector, as India enters the precision print engineering and technology integration sector.
The KnowzzleJet M880 is designed as an alternative to traditional web offset printing, particularly for commercial, book, and transactional sectors looking to optimize short to medium runs. By combining the width and scale of a 34-inch web with the agility of digital inkjet, it offers substantial productivity.
With a maximum rated production speed of 150 meters per minute (mpm), the solution is engineered for continuous, stable operation. It uses Memjet DuraLink printheads, noted consistent image quality even at top speeds and their long operational life.
Printers can choose from four distinct resolution options, allowing them to pivot between high-speed output and premium image quality depending on their specific work requirements.

Understanding that modern print houses require diverse workflows, the M880 is being offered in two configurations — the Fixed Cut, is a streamlined option that mimics conventional web offset workflows for standardized production, and the Variable Cut, is a highly flexible option that allows for on-the-fly format changes and varying job lengths, catering to the on-demand nature of the modern market.
The press is fully integrated with the Xitron RIP system. This integration ensures seamless Variable Data Printing (VDP) and efficient job management, making it easy for traditional shops to transition into a digital-first ecosystem.
Market confidence appears high as Monotech says that three units have already been exported. It seems that early adopters are eager to capitalize on the M880’s promise of digital efficiency and productivity.
Commenting on the launch, Tej Prakash Jain, managing director, Monotech Systems, said, “The knowzzleJet M880 represents a significant step forward in our vision to drive innovation in digital printing. Building something that has never been built before – the world’s first 34-inch roll-to-fold inkjet web press is both a proud and defining achievement for us.”
He adds, “This collaboration brings together deep engineering expertise and market understanding to create a solution that truly bridges the gap between offset and digital. With this launch, we aim to empower printers with the speed, flexibility, and efficiency they need to stay competitive in a rapidly evolving industry.”
