Repro Offset has written a letter to the editor of Indian Printer and Publisher regarding an article titled, ‘Pragati Offset’s update ….becomes the 1st FOGRA PSO Certified Printer in India.’ We reproduce the letter and our editor’s response.
Dear IPP team,
We recently came across the article in your latest issue, “Pragati Offset’s update ….becomes the 1st FOGRA PSO Certified Printer in India.” While we acknowledge and appreciate the achievement of Pragati Offset, we would like to respectfully clarify that Repro India Ltd was, in fact, India’s first FOGRA PSO-certified press, having received the certification in 2011.
We understand that such errors can happen, and we are reaching out solely to ensure the historical accuracy of this important industry milestone. Given the stature of your publication as one of India’s most reputed print-related magazines, we believe it’s important that the record reflects this correctly.
We are also curious if there may have been any confusion, we would be happy to provide any additional information or documentation if needed. (Refer attached scan of the Repro’s Fogra Certification).
Thank you for your attention to this matter. We look forward to your response and continued collaboration in supporting and promoting excellence in the Indian print industry.
Best regards,
Vijay Jadhav
Our editor replies
Dear Vijay,
Thanks for your clarification. Although we were apprehensive that Pragati Offset may not have been the first or the only FOGRA PSO Certified Printer in India and queried the company, it responded by sending us the FOGRA communication that said Pragati was the first in India to be so certified. Apologies for our error in publishing the story without researching further and questioning FOGRA itself. We have removed the story from our website.
Regards, editor
