Super Bond Adhesives, a 50-year-old company specializing in adhesives, is setting up South Asia’s largest hot melt adhesive manufacturing unit in Gujarat’s Wada. The company operates three plants in Bhiwani near Mumbai—one spanning 10 acres and another covering four acres—across three key verticals— the graphic arts industry, packaging, and rubber.

Shaktivel Nadar, key accounts manager at Super Bond Adhesives, shared insights into the company’s expansion and its presence at PrintPack.

“At Printpack, the company focused on adhesives for the graphic arts industry, including book binding adhesives, jelly glue for hardcover machines, and lamination,” Nadar said. It has introduced SuperMelt Galaxy 12, an alternative to PUR adhesive, which is suitable for paper up to 250 gsm and can withstand temperatures ranging from -20°C to 65°C. This adhesive is compatible with conventional hot melt machines, eliminating the need for a separate applicator.

Its adhesives are used in various machines displayed at the event, reinforcing its influence in the graphic arts and packaging industries—segments that contribute 30–40% of its overall business.

The company’s new hot melt manufacturing unit, set to be operational by June-July 2025, is already in the installation and fabrication phase. Once complete, it will have a production capacity of 300 metric tons per month. Super Bond Adhesives plans to host an open house to showcase its production process, R&D facilities, and machinery to customers.
