Delhi printer Inkfinity Prints has installed an Atexco Vegapress 440C web-fed 4 + 4 full-color duplex inkjet press at its plant in Noida in the New Delhi national capital region. Inkfinity Prints is an extension of a three-decade legacy family-owned publishing and print business that includes Gupta Electrostat, AKS Publishing House, Gupta Thesis, and Future Reprographics.
Inkfinity, which is currently led by brothers Akshat and Kartik Gupta, was founded by their father Deepak Gupta in 1989. “We began receiving increasing demand for short-run jobs from our clients, and we needed a solution that could help us meet this demand without compromising our core values of timely delivery and exceptional quality.
“After evaluating several inkjet web presses, we chose the Atexco Vegapress. Our decision was driven by our long-standing relationship with Insight,” says Akshat Gupta. The Atexco Vegapress comes in two widths —440mm and 660mm—and is available in monochrome and color variants. The press features an unwinder, printing engine, buffering unit, slitting and cutting mechanism, and stacker, driven by a RIP server and advanced RIP software. It is claimed to be capable of producing high-quality prints on uncoated paper, at operating speeds over 50,000 A4 pages an hour on paper substrates from 40 to 200 gsm.
“The Vegapress prints both front and back in a single pass, delivering a complete book block ready for binding. This key feature has significantly streamlined our operations, reducing manpower requirements, minimizing manual intervention, and eliminating material wastage,” said Kartik Gupta, Inkfinity’s CEO.
The Atexco Vegapress utilizes pigment ink and industrial-grade print heads and supports jumbo rolls up to 1.3 meters in diameter. Equipped with an inline vacuum cleaner, the Vegapress ensures that paper, which often arrives with dust, is thoroughly cleaned before printing begins, for maintaining high print standards. Its compact design requires just two bars to print both the front and back, significantly reducing its footprint.
The automatic buffering unit allows continuous high-speed printing at 100 meters, even while cutting is in progress. It includes both inline vertical and horizontal cutters, easily adjusted for different paper and product sizes.
“Traditional offset presses require over 35 raw materials, while the Atexco Vegapress simplifies operations by using only paper and ink. It eliminates chemical waste, requires no minimum order quantity, has a smaller footprint, and consumes significantly less electricity. These features make the Vegapress an environmentally sustainable and efficient solution for book printers and publishers,” said Ajay Aggarwal managing director and CEO at Insight Print Communications.
